THey were set on fire during the fight by the other guy, but that was after the victim had already suffered two open lacerations from the axe. Your side of the story: Basicly i saw some epic Xeno organs from meaty asteroids so I yoinked an egg sack and a plasma from a chaplin. I ran back to my robticist lab planing to shove that stuff in me and then chaplin and about 4 other guys barge into science and just breaks into roboticists and starts stunning me. I get yeeted out and run back in. Someone shoots a fireball from what i belived to be the direction of the scientist. He also had my axe so i shoved him and grabbed that axe back. His hand turned blue and made electrical sounds so me being on defense mode with 5 people in my home lab i slice him up 2 time until he gets away. I will admit i did chase him a bit. I go back to my lab and i see him again when again a fire ball is shot where i belived from his direction so I go full attack mode and attack him until he's in crit. I believed this was perfectly valid because the fireballs went from his direction while i was in defense mode from people breaking into my home. Hos came in and arrested me where my baton I stole from a detective after he dropped it and my axe was also stolen, i got very angry and salty so i just straigh up disconected from the server, not knowing an admin would be PMing me. (i know the ban is for one day i jsut really dont want another ban ontop of my 1800 mile long ban record which i fully aknoladge)
Why you think you should be unbanned: I think I should be unbanned because, in my opinion, I believe that my attacking him was fully justified by the fact that the fireballs that the admin said did not come from him DID come from his direction. They broke into my lab and started "ransacting" the place, even using the bed for their own surgeries.

As you can see, he doesn't really do much beyond strip you to search for the xeno organs you apparently nicked- the actual fighting is between yourself and others.
Anyway, he then assumes you've implanted the egg sac, and jokes about fireballing you, followed by shooting a fireball, which missed, seemingly he managed to set himself on fire in the process, for which you laugh at him.

he then puts the fire out- he does this later on when he actually DOES set you on fire, even while you're beating him to death with an axe. It's these actions that made me believe he had no actual intent to kill you, despite how aggressive it seems on the face of it.

So my thought process at the time was basically that I checked the logs for your mob, saw that the first combat interaction between you was getting snowballed (the missed fireball didn't show), saw that you'd axed him to death with him barely fighting back (and trying to put you out), and was unable to get your side of the story due to the fact you were DC'd. Having checked all the logs and lined it up with your story here, I think while it's probably still a bit excessive to axe him to death (given he was in the right to try and stop you from implanting the xeno egg sac you stole), I don't think it's dayban worthy given how he was acting- I'll remove the ban and note, it's not really fair to call the kill unjust if you'd just been ganged up on by a bunch of people and then some guy threatens to set you on fire, fireproof or not.
