Named self Anne Tage, stole the captain's laser and then later used it to shoot people on the escape shuttle. Naming yourself that doesn't actually make you one! Please explain yourself on the forums.

Your side of the story: Il recount what happened to the best of my memory, it was a while ago. I was an assistant, ended up having some IC beef with the captain (verbal shit throwing.) Nothing much comes from it, just some banter over PDA messages, but later on in the round shit goes down and by some funny twist of fate, the captain was stuck in his office (as far as I recall I think an explosion had cut power to his office, while his ID was in his computer) I come across him in his office (blown up walls, still girdered) and offer to free him if I can get his gun. He agrees, I free him, take his laser gun and he then reports me to security for stealing his gun. (I wanna note I just found it pretty funny and it wasnt something I really cared about enough to adminhelp, it was appropriate given the context of the round and pretty funny) An over eager HoS ends up nearly putting me into crit with lethal shots (the round had went to shit at this point, to be fair and he was going off of ic info.)

By this time the shuttle was en route already, I ended up having to dip security and sneak onto the shuttle with a change of clothes/hidden ID. I see the captain on the escape shuttle and shout off a cool line like a action movie hero and unload his gun into his face. Given he had ordered me to be executed over a IC conflict I thought it would be appropriate. Im willing to accept I probably took that too far. The round ended and nothing came of it so I thought it was fine and logged off for a while but the admin clearly wanted to talk to me after owing to the ban and the ban reason

Why you think you should be unbanned: Im not too shit of a player and i'd like to play again, I was asked to explain why and I think I answered it above. Im willing to accept murdering the captain over a IC conflict is a bit overkill, I feel I might have avoided a ban all together if I had a chance to explain myself, regardless I thought it would be best to wait a few months to appeal this.

true, I have been playing for a long time though and to be fair I feel if I had explained myself properly the ban would have not happened, it was a miscommunication/misunderstanding that can happen between rounds.

I appreciate the circumstances are a bit different but isnt an unwarranted murder normally a dayban?

also in retrospect having read the logs my memory is jogged and yes I did shoot the captain for recalling the shuttle while aliens where busy murdering everyone, which I think is valid, I did not kill the captain just a few noots of a laser so he'd stop recalling.

The beef we had was the HoP (as the logs show) was pissed off at me for yakkity saxing a ID from his desk and ordered me to be killed. I remember after dodging some lethals fired at me from security and realizing they intended to bring me in dead, not alive and thinking the captain had ordered me to be executed (for some reason, I did not know ICly) on top of the meme announcements he was spouting I thought he was an antag/valid.

also if you note the escape shuttle was a total clusterfuck and I believed the captain had sided with the the xenos due to his previous announcements.

my point being is I dont think this would have even been a noteworthy offence if I had explained myself properly instead of logging at the round end (ban was applied after the round had finished)

will get you removed. This probation lasts until the end of the year, which is reasonable given a large majority of players accumulate one or two notes per year, if at all. If they are capable of this so are you. It is subjective, it is almost unfair, you will be walking on tightropes and it will be really horrible probably not knowing if the next thing you do will get an admin placing the perma back on you but that's how it is. Once the year passes we can forget about this.
