Your side of the story:

I'll admit off the bat i was playing with a friend, and though we had played the game years back, we were rusty as hell. Never had any issues with it back then, but evidently talking with friends out of the game is a big no-no. Fine, i'll concede on that. However a permaban from all servers rather than a warning or short-time ban? Now that's what we call a badmin abusing powers for the heck of it, and judging from the admin in question's feedback forum, i'm pretty spot on. I'd like for an independent moderator to revisit round ID 107391 and give a shorter ban if examples must be set. If metagaming is the end-all be-all ultimate ban reason above ban evasion and other repeated acts of antagonism, then i guess /tg/ has gone further down the rabbit hole than what i'm used to.

Hello Unatco, it seems you're terribly confused about the punishments we make for metacomming.

Metacomming is something we frown upon strongly, and the normal punishment for breaking rule 2 is a permaban. This isn't admin abuse, but the normal procedure.

Only the banning admin and the head admins can modify your ban. Not reading our rules doesn't justify your actions.

Permaban is standard for cases of metagaming.
Especially since you abused it heavily, causing the death of an antag and a holoparasite, ruining the round of two players.

The scenario was the following:
1. Antags kill someone out of sight of everyone
2. Fellow botanist, zeke_sanders, who's been wordlessly working with their fellow botanist ends up where the antags are headed after he murder
3. Murders them with a mech.

You've also admitted to metagaming so this easy and I'm denying this appeal.
The headmins may or may not give their opinion on the matter and can end up overruling it, however considering your hostility and admittance to metagaming I'd doubt that'd be the case.

What a disaster.
It's not Dax's fault that you and your friend were unable to read the rules before playing again. The ban is spot on and your attitude towards it doesn't make me think you deserve a shorter ban.
Play in other servers and we'll see you again in a year.
