To repeat, we asked the crew beforehand and the vote was nearly unanimous, so trying to paint this as being similar to the last time I got banned or that I did this alone is just so far from reality that I honestly doubt the admin even checked the logs before assuming what happened
Why you think you should be unbanned: As said above, I was just following the will of the people, enacting a more entertaining restart vote if you will. If this is still bannable though, for whatever reason, I'm not sure why the same standard didn't apply to the rest of the engi team or the greyshirts that came in to help

I count 7 people agreeing, 1 more (Cayce) after you had already started the process, with 1 of them (Beanstrom) going back on their agreement later. 4 other players were against the idea.

For reference, there were 41 living players on round start and up to 48 at the time you send the first radio message. I would reckon that "almost the entire crew" did not notice or care what was going on over the radio. This was not a "unanimous" decision by a long shot.

You essentially griefed the round for no reason. The 4 other members of the engineering department were investigated either in-game at the time this was happening or later on when I was reviewing logs. 1 of them was directly involved until the end and was given a punishment for this by me. The other 3 each at some point chose to stop contributing to the grief and/or attempted to fix the SM.

I'm not sure if it was incompetence or if the other engis took my suggestion to heart instantly, but when I re-entered the engine room (at around the time I said "singulo time") the chamber was already on fire, and things got pretty rushed afterwards. From what I did catch though, especially from Huey, it seemed (in the moment) like Jane was the only person objecting. I'm also sorry that I didn't check the player count, though to be fair Northstar is a lowpop map and it's pretty rare for so many people to join so quickly after roundstart. All in all, I definitely should have been more careful and payed closer attention to the radio, but with the entire engineering and atmos team being onboard along with the supermatter already delamming I hope you can see how I missed a lot of the information here. If anything like this happens I'll ask the captain or AI to do an actual announcement, though I think it would probably be best if I just avoided the singulo altogether

Also as a side note, while I definitely did "lead" this project, the only thing I remember actually doing myself was redirecting a pipe and (maybe?) messing with the air alarm once

We've also established in recent bans that players are not permitted to use restart votes to skip a map they don't want to play, even if a slim majority wants to do so. This runs along those lines.

This is when you said "singulo time". The engine would have had to catch fire within 20 seconds of it being started for your story to be accurate.

Unfortunately for all involved, this IS entirely possible and can be simply replicated by following the steps performed in the logs above. The only relevant detail is that the emitters were started (by a different player) long before the nitrogen canisters were connected to the cooling loop. This will start a fire and begin delamination in around 10 seconds. Irrelevant here but this effect can also be achieved simply by doing nothing else but setting the scrubbers to siphon - once the chamber is cleared of gas (~10 seconds), the supermatter will be "started" rather immediately into a roaring 10,000+ K fire. This bitch is easier to light on fire than actually run.

Your involvement in the plan seemed to be limited to the initial call and hype for a singularity and adjusting some pipes in atmospherics to dump as much gas into the supermatter chamber as possible to get that singularity. This certainly didn't help the situation and made it more difficult to bring under control later on once cooler heads prevailed (you not being one of them).

Just to clarify, Northstar is the most not-lowpop map we have and requires 50 players connected to the server before it even appears in the map vote.

That being said, I appreciate the vibes here a bit more than your opening post. I would still strongly advise against (read: ban) intentionally causing mass destruction of the station and forcing a shuttle call as a non-antagonist in this manner even if you managed to get a "yes" from 90% of the station's crew. Acceptable alternatives may include: being an antagonist, actually putting in effort to construct functioning containment for a singularity, joining one of our other 4 servers, or logging off and touching grass for a while. I do struggle to believe that you simply wanted a different map because you disconnected shortly after hugging the supermatter and did not return.

However, I am still missing some critical understanding from you. I need you to recognize that you kicked off a series of events that was unabashed server grief from the beginning. You do not get to sabotage a round because you are unhappy with the map, much like how you can't sabotage a round for any other reason as a non-antagonist. This is one of the few straight-to-jail do-not-pass-go routes to a permanent ban that a player can take and it's baffling to me that you've done it twice. Rectification attempted to explain all this to you 7 months ago but I want you to tell me that you understand it now and that there is a zero percent chance of this happening again.

This is when you said "singulo time". The engine would have had to catch fire within 20 seconds of it being started for your story to be accurate.

Unfortunately for all involved, this IS entirely possible and can be simply replicated by following the steps performed in the logs above. The only relevant detail is that the emitters were started (by a different player) long before the nitrogen canisters were connected to the cooling loop. This will start a fire and begin delamination in around 10 seconds. Irrelevant here but this effect can also be achieved simply by doing nothing else but setting the scrubbers to siphon - once the chamber is cleared of gas (~10 seconds), the supermatter will be "started" rather immediately into a roaring 10,000+ K fire. This bitch is easier to light on fire than actually run.

even here, you state that you knew it was against the rules, and did it anyway. you've been proven to have lied/misrepresented about 'almost the entire crew voting for the delam', and you knew that doing something like this in the first place wasn't allowed to begin with - and i feel you're trying to downplay your role in the actual delam itself here.

Also as a side note, while I definitely did "lead" this project, the only thing I remember actually doing myself was redirecting a pipe and (maybe?) messing with the air alarm once

adjusting a pipe in order to maximize the amount of gas going into the chamber to cause the delamination is not an argument i would think anybody would try to squeak in as a 'well i really only did this' in any kind of honesty.

given the proven similarities between these two permabans, and your dishonesty in how you've represented this situation in the appeal itself, you've given a lot of reason to question any sort of assurances that you won't do this again. and reading through your replies here, you've given little indication that you even understand why this isn't an acceptable thing that players can be allowed to do in the first place.

yeah, that was something i brought up in my reply that failed to post. the last time i got banned i knew it was against the rules and was fully expecting to get banned, while this time i genuinely thought i was doing what the majority wanted. i also explained at length earlier why the vote misunderstanding came about, and apologized for not being more careful. finally, my point with the pipes was to point out that and all the changes i personally made were pretty minor and easily reversed. i honestly dont remember the specifics and admit i could be biased looking back, but assuming isra combed through the logs before posting his 2nd to last message i dont its fair to say it wasnt dishonest

also as a side note, ive seen people in ooc comparing northstar to birdshot and kilo, so that paired with how tiny and incomplete engineering is led me to assume it was a lowpop map. again, i should have double checked

You do not get to sabotage a round because you are unhappy with the map, much like how you can't sabotage a round for any other reason as a non-antagonist. This is one of the few straight-to-jail do-not-pass-go routes to a permanent ban that a player can take and it's baffling to me that you've done it twice. Rectification attempted to explain all this to you 7 months ago but I want you to tell me that you understand it now and that there is a zero percent chance of this happening again.
