Ban reason: Posted a reaction gif that was too borderline porn for discord. Enough said, I don't feel this is the place nor the type of ban to elaborate on details.

Time ban was placed: 2023, November 2nd, roughly 11pm. it's hard to know as I cant exactly view the discord message timestamp.

Your side of the story: I don't disagree with what happened. I'm more curious on the details of said ban, as the only message I have to go off of is the bot saying I have received a "One Point Warning", but I have zero idea if that means a permanent ban, or if its for a week, or if its a "ban" at all. I'm also unable to DM any server admins about it, because well, I'm not in a discord server with them, as I'm unable to rejoin.

Why you think you should be unbanned: I'm not asking to be unbanned (especially given how I doubt this is a permaban given it is my first offense), I just am curious about the details of rules broken and the ban duration. I even admit myself it was admittedly a very dumb thing to do, but am just curious what rules were broken etc to ensure it doesn't happen again. It's hard to learn for the future when all I have to go off of is a single message from a discord bot.

Aye, fair enough. Is there a time period or is this permanent? I feel its in bad taste to appeal the day after the ban was placed, doubly so if its a temporary ban for a month. I want all the information I can before I make an actual appeal, as I don't think it gives a good impression of me if I don't know the details, as I probably wouldnt be able to respond accurately to the "why I should be unbanned" bit of the prompt.

It wasn't borderline porn, it was just actual porn. I'll spare the details in the appeal because I'm fairly sure you know what you posted that got you banned. Due to the explicity of said porn this is a permanent ban, but if you make an appeal where you can demonstrate that you understand what you did wrong and leave a good impression that you won't post shit like that again I'll be willing to lower it down substantially. I won't count this appeal against you because you're just asking for information and Discord is pretty bad at informing you why you're banned. The warning bot we use that you received a message from is just how we log notes on discord so that we can keep track of someone's history of rulebreaking. I'd recommend you take a few days to think on what you did and appeal again with a clear mind.

Ah, okay, thanks for explaining the bot thing. I admit, I probably should have gone with my gut feeling and not posted it, as well, as you said it you don't really need to say why it broke rule eight, as its kind of obvious. At this point, I feel taking a break from the discord would probably be helpful for my personal productivity due to my university finals starting soon (and I felt I was burning too much time talking even before this happened).

The only real reason I have for appealing (instead of just letting the ban sit for a while) at this time is there's a PR I've been working on for roughly a month now (#78777) and it would REALLY suck if it got autoclosed due to being stale and I had no way to talk to the code maintainers to review it. I don't know if it's possible to do this on discord, but I would be perfectly fine with only having access to the coding and spriting channels for the period of my ban, in the case the ban is reduced from "forever" to "a while". Should I open a new appeal or just edit my initial post here?
