Description of what happened: It was a drone invasion event and he got killed as a crewman so he tried to bomb the drone area, later bragged about it and acted like a shittler in OOC
Why they should be banned: Blowing himself up and several drones who had nothing to do with his death for a childish reason, trying to justify it as 'BAWW I GOT KILLED I CAN DO WHAT I WANT'

i love how only a few people praised the event. Just a few examples of people complaining about it:

OOC: Retrokinesis: > caring about rule 1 for an antag who's ONLY purpose is murderboning everyone

OOC: Plasma_Panda: not fucking cool killing people on the arrivals shuttle

OOC: Retrokinesis: I just wanted to build my big stompy mech in peace

by admin logic, killing other syndrones when the game says you're allowed to is dickish, but sending in people to murder the entire crew 5 minutes into the round isn't

I still don't think me killing OP drones, as I was allowed to, is any more dickish than admins sending in OP drones five minutes into the round to slaughter the crew. When the round ended, the deathsquads were all wiped out and a drone was the only thing on the shuttle. This shit-tier event has been done before - the crew always loses. You wanna know why? Without intervention, the stream of drones in nigh-endless.

I'm sorry for ruining this shitty event. If you had told us not to follow our laws, and the message we're given, I would've listened.

Are any of the people like OP getting punished for killing people in the arrivals shuttle? Is the host of the event getting punished for forcing people into an unwinnable conflict and spawning a hundred syndrone shells right outside arrivals? Those aren't Rule 1 violations, but this is?

in other words:
your entire argument boils down to "umad" when you and Lumi were the only ones complaining about not being able to endlessly murderbone

ALSO: Complete lies in the OP post, I don't think the logs say any of that????? Am I complaining about being murdered by nigh-unkillable drones? No, I'm saying I killed them because I was allowed to.

Oh, and one more thing: my bombing didn't even destroy the shells, it just killed a few drones and messed up the floor

It seems like the event encouraged drones to fight each other. If that's the case the act of blowing up other drones in and of itself isn't a thing. If you've given them an incentive to kill each other, they're not on the same team.

If it's true that has bombing the arrivals shuttle, though, it merits a ban. We never let anyone do that because it's very unfair, and dickish to new players who have no idea what's going on. Spawning into the game on top of a space tile or in a freezing room with no air is bullshit.

Regarding accusations of admins abuse or poor event setup, we had a pretty lengthy and involved discussion in #bus last night in response to both this and the recent rash of admins events resulting in enmity and bans.

If that's the case then his motivations don't matter. He's an antags doing antags stuff.

This is what happens when you create a ton of antags that aren't on a team together.

I never thought you should get banned for it, but it was obviously a very shitty thing to do. All the drone shells spawned together for one, and the mere fact that you're all syndicate drone heavily implies that you're there to fuck the station, not each other, certainly not bombing all the shells to keep others out of the round.
The kill and eat other drones thing isn't even a law, it was simply a note, saying how you could heal. If you needed to murder another drone to heal because you're damaged? Sure, but there was literally dozens of dead drones everywhere you could eat.
Then you argued that it's fine for syndie drones to murder each other because 'nothing says they're on the same side', then said you would never team kill other aliens because 'they serve the queen', when literally aliens are literally in the same boat of not implicitly being a 'team', but it is also obvious to anyone that murdering other aliens 'because you can' would be extremely dickish.

The keyword in that description is kill.

You can KILL and eat other drones...

Not just scavenge them, it explicitly gives you permission to kill other drones.

Aliens don't have that. There's no IC benefit implied or otherwise for aliens to start tearing each other apart.

As an antag with the permission to attack other drones it doesn't matter what his actions are. On their own they don't count for shit. Blowing up the other potential drones is advantageous for him because it means less potential competition or others trying to eat him later. It's a legitimate approach to things given the event.

In short, his IC actions weren't bannable or reprehensible in any way. No more so than when one changeling absorbs another changeling, or a traitor decides to kill another traitor.

His OOC conduct, on the other hand, is exemplary of an attitude we want to stifle and eliminate from the server. Whether you're an antag or not, when the round ends to stop and say "HEY I REALLY MADE THIS GAME UNFUN FOR YOU ISNT THAT AWESOME HAHA!" is bullshit. It doesn't matter if he was a drone killing other drones or a non-antag slaughtering a whole nuke ops team. Don't be an asshole about it.

It's possible for someone to win and someone to lose and both people to have fun...but not when people are acting like that. Purposely antagonizing people OOC because of what happened in the round?
