Detailed summary: I had joined the server and politely asked for clarification on where the server stood on the whole trans debate thing. Or, more accurately, I was wondering if I was going to run into people in-game outright claiming to be trans or talking about things related to being trans. Obviously this would cause issues. Although I find the act of banning me for asking a simple question to be pretty damn stupid, I'm mainly complaining about how the situation was handled.

It would have been a better approach if he had said something like "Yeah, we believe trans rights are human rights here" or whatever.
I would've responded with something like "If I were to play here anyways, would I be exposed to things like that in-game or would we be able to have our differences of opinion on it and not have it come up?"
Then, if it would inevitably come up, he could reply something like "Sorry, but no. You're going to have to deal with it if you want to play here."
I would then respond with "Alright, thanks anyways. Have a good day."

I would proceed to disconnect and we would have both been able to go about our day having been chill with each other regardless of our differences in views. This did not happen. I think it sets a very bad precedent for an admin to be extremely hostile and dismissive towards someone he simply disagrees with when it isn't even necessary and actively escalates situations. Until the ban happened anyways, which is still an escalation.

If you're gonna keep me banned, at least try to be a bit nicer to people who make a point to make sure their views are compatible with whatever the rules of the server are at any time.
