A tech question [HELP]

Post by Tarchonvaagh » #578076

So the reason why i stopped playing ss13 recently is because every time I try to this happens:
Image
Whenever I try to play a game (other than df, tf2 and a few others) the screen freezes with a distorted image and before I got a speaker it produced some weird noises as well. Is it caused by a faulty gpu? Because in case it is then I wont hesitate and just replace it, but if it isnt then I probably wont bother.
Please help?
PLEASE?

I've never had this problem before but I'd start by making sure all the cables are connected properly and then try to isolate the problem by disabling or removing the GPU to see if that solves the problem by forcing it to use the motherboard's onboard GPU (assuming it has one). If that doesn't solve it it's not the GPU.

You see, the only gpu it has is integrated, so removing it would be a giant pain in the ass (if even possible)
Thank you for the advice though!

I'd recommend backing up your hard drive and doing a clean installation
If that doesn't work, you could spend a few hundred on a GPU
If that doesn't work, the issue might be with your CPU? Amazon allows 30-day returns on electronics, so you'd be able to send the GPU back if the problem persists. (I'm not sure what return services Newegg offers)
