What I found interesting is that that Golddust fellow is still around. I don't watch Pro Wrasslin' much and when I did it was back in that whole RAW IS WAR era. Is it the same guy or is there some 'passing on the gold makeup thing' that I don't know about.

Nope. Same dude. Same shtick. He's not a bad performer and he's a got a huge legacy behind him.

He's the son of Dusty Rhodes, a big figure from the early days who has since gone on to do a lot of stuff in promotion, training, and behind the scenes shit. He's one of the few folks from that era to still be alive. He's like a fatter Ric Flair with a weird accent.

Golddust's younger brother Cody Rhodes (now wrestling as Stardust) used to just wrestle under his normal name, but has since joined up with Golddust to be Stardust. Of the two of them he's a lot more ridiculous. Dan Ryckert from giantbomb interviewed him and it was fucking hilarious.



If you guys want more ridiculous goofy wrestling funtimes I would recommend trying to watch as much Kaiju Big Battel (yes that's how it is spelled) as you can find. It's a bunch of independent wrestlers dressing up like rubber monsters and sentai heroes and beating the shit out of eachother in a cage filled with foam buildings and shit. Fucking hilarious.

where i live we have chikara which is ran by the dude who does kaiju big battel. i liked chikara until around 2 yrs ago when their storyline became incomprehensible and they had a literal year-long shutdown for 'advancing the storyline' (read: they went fucking broke). they're still running shows again but i don't really give a shit. but for a period from like 2010 to 2013 chikara was godlike.

also here is czw, which veers between "decent events with inexplicably good matches with good talent" and botchamania shit. i am a little more sympathetic to czw going full retard than most because i work out with a dude who works almost every czw show. when it's good, it's surprisingly ok, when it's not though lmao


outside of local shit i don't follow much pro wrestling anymore, i don't have time for it & i just lost interest in it in general. i'll look up cool jap matches on the internet when they're recced to me or watch old 80s/90s shootstyle shit because i can't get enough of that shit.

other than that all i know is bork laser returned and some really prominent wrestler in wwe just got in trouble for sending nudes to some girl on twitter while cheating on his gf and then got his dickpicks leaked in response, attaboy tiger keep e-pimpin

Was pretty fucking hilarious, and I think setting up some kind of regular group chat to watch the stream would be pretty great if folks are interested.
