People get upset that Manuel exists, a server they don't play on, but then you go to their servers and basically Crag described what I was going to say but in a better way.

That said, if Manuel became a citadel for furry RP and ResetEra types I would be disappointed. It would be undesirable in general for that disease to be allowed to fester and potentially spread. Giving it its own admins instead of just establishing new guidelines for all of them will do that, based on my experiences there.

But I don't think this pastebin file will lead to anything.

If would actually be obvious my argument was in favour of a TGMC style arrangement where apart from hosting, and perhaps code, Manuel is its own entity. A much neater solution than forming a political party to try and win the player vote that players from every server vote on in order to get 1/3 headmins to try and implement your ideas only to get potentially outvoted by the two other headmins.

I don’t think we should set Manuel free with its own administration, and definitely not it’s own codebase (I know that’s not what you said but some people throw the idea around). The idea is that it’s simply a higher roleplay experience than our normal servers, and that doesn’t require anything independent. All servers utilizing the same set of headmins keeps them decently close together in policy, and sort of cross pollute one another. Who knows, down the line manuel might actually end up increasing the roleplay levels for our other servers, which I don’t think would be a bad thing. Of course the fear is that “hugbox policies” will leak into LRP, but if they end up being common sense things like restricting lowpop murderbone and validhunting then I can’t say I’ll be upset.

Lets just hope that should someone from Manuel become headmin, it will be someone reasonable who understands the servers place in tg, and not some radical player who is popular within its community (such a candidate would only serve to split the vote from more levelheaded candidates anyways I imagine).

Back to the topic at hand, obviously it makes sense to have a headmin who plays and is familiar with the MRP community, although like arm said to suggest that we haven’t had such a headmin before is pretty disrespectful. This headmin wouldn’t be the sole authority on MRP issues just as the other two wouldnt be the sole authority on LRP issues, which imo is important and factors into that idea of cross pollination I mentioned earlier. At the end of the day the core idea is pretty solid, it’s just dressed up in this ridiculous guise of a political “party” - which is laughable considering this is a game.

Yeah it does seem like most people agree that other servers have suffered a decline in some areas. But how would cutting it off improve things? The change has already happened. There's no going back.

Cutting it off to its own codebase would be suicide though. What would make it different from many downstreams?

Having separate administrations like is wanted would also be difficult. That could evolve to being two separate communities both fighting to contribute to the same code and reacting to what's there with completely different policy. What a nightmare that would be.

It's just, not the same case as things like tgmc.
