I'm pretty well-versed in WH Fantasy but I mainly play 40K. Tau painted red white and blue to counterbalance their filthy communism
(Also Necron but fuck I got tired of playing "boy i sure hope these guys rez" and resorted to running gimmick armies)

When my group played 40k I played Chaos Space Marines and lost alll the time. CSM are cool.

Now my group is playing Fantasy and I win alllll the time with Lizardmen. Lizardmen are cool.

Used to be big in to it. Still have probably 3000 points or so of imperial guard, but i dont have the new codex. I have some great stories of playing with my buddies though. Once i killed most of a 800 point squad of Grey Knight Paladins with a single demolition charge thrown by some chucklefuck guardsman. Feels good man.

EDIT: Lets get some tabletop wargeams storytime going, i have a few to share for sure.

I used to play 40k a bit, but I played Tau so I never won and the rules were too arcane for my cro-magnon proto-brain to comprehend so I was at a massive disadvantage for multiple reasons.

I'm more partial to skirmish-scale games, if only because they 1.) cost less, 2.) don't take three days to play, and 3.) are portable without using the entire trunk of your car. Warmachine was the first I tried in that realm, but Malifaux is definitely my favorite. I love me some Weird West. Plus, the randomizing mechanic is damn neat--drawing from a deck of playing cards instead of using dice.
