Exactly - people already employ other methods to render the tram obsolete without taking the more direct option of just blowing it up. This is because blowing up the tram on a population of any substantial size is extremely dangerous and risks harming players. Fortunately in lowpop there was no risk of this, and no one was harmed accidentally.

Let's examine the hazards with the SM:
- You could walk into it and get dusted
- You could walk near it without mesons and get hallucinations/rads
So yeah, you would avoid these two hazards, which aren't really even worth mentioning as hazards, by pre-emptively detonating the SM. But, I don't know, I feel like getting one-shot by the tram when the gravity goes out and hidden under a holofan firelock forever is a bit more of a hazard than accidentally walking into the SM. Maybe you would agree...
