Do scrubbers scrub cold air?
because if they don't, that seems like a pretty big proponent in all this firelock bullshit I have to deal with.

Re: Do scrubbers scrub cold air?
this is one of the greatest misunderstandings of Atmos machinery, and Atmos in general that I have ever had the misfortune to witness on these forums.
They can scrub gases, and they can siphon the air around them. They do not change the temperature of the air by themselves. For that you need to vent warmer air, or bring some heaters to the area and turn them on.

They can scrub gas of any temperature, but they can't scrub on the criterion of temperature, only type.

I'm not that stupid, I've played this game before and understand the concept of scrubbers and how they work. This post was a question if you could set up the scrubbers to automatically cycle when the air temp was bellow a threshold, so a little cold doesn't lock down an area permanently.Blase wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 1:34 am this is one of the greatest misunderstandings of Atmos machinery, and Atmos in general that I have ever had the misfortune to witness on these forums.

not automatically, but I think draught or cycle is what you are looking for.Itseasytosee2me wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 1:54 am

Re: Do scrubbers scrub cold air?
This is a reminder to everyone who hates airlocks as much as I do that right clicking fire alarms disables the airlock doors for a marginally longer period than opening the door with a crowbar.
Should you always have a crowbar?
I'd say at this point it might as well come in your pocket on arrival, but you're not completely fucked if you don't have one.
Unless there's no power, in which case, get bent I guess.

Re: Do scrubbers scrub cold air?
Fun fact, scrubbers detect environmental hazards and have the tools to respond to them automatically and clean the air.
They just don't because it makes atmos techs do it.
The only time I have ever interacted with a fire alarm is to make bombs or to release the plasma I filled distro with.

Re: Do scrubbers scrub cold air?
It also spreads the shitty air a lot faster. Thanks for making the job harder!

If you give someone a year to stop shitting on the carpet and they keep doing it but get slightly closer to the bathroom every time and sometimes they get to the toilet before it happens, at what point does it become acceptable to just ask them to go shit in someone else's house?
