You can literally cut a lot of things out of context, put some fucking music, and make it look like he's ok with pedo books without any context to what happened.
Hi could you reword this for me? I know that I'm probably being stupid but I genuienly don't understand what you're saying and would like to reply.Archie700 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 8:54 amYou can literally cut a lot of things out of context, put some fucking music, and make it look like he's ok with pedo books without any context to what happened.
And then say admins did not ban him over this.
And "he was only playing devil's advocate" was definitely not the reaction when he posted them. To put it bluntly, it literally derailed the thread from mocking Vekter for badly wording his ban to "WHAT THE FUCK SINFUL".
typhnox's posts werent taken out of context it was literally just full screenshots of what he said
God, I don't want to debate the video too hard in fear of getting 1984'ed but I think the point of it was the perception that admins were defending said player by doing things like banning Thomas when he called the player out for being odd and the admins banning him whereas doing nothing to the player.Archie700 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 10:18 am Ok I'm going top explain it more clearly.
The video on Typhnox was posted to an audience that does not have anything beside these posts in question to go by. Granted, Typhnox's views were already very bad to begin with (not going to get a full comment because come on this is obvious) but the Internet is well known for being a drama consumer.
Back to Sinful. His posts in these threads were met with derision to the point it took up the whole thread. Everyone went and argued with him and called him out on having a terrible take. Not one person was on his side. A really bad actor could screenshot these, make a video, post it on youtube/digg, and then make it look like "he's actually defending pedos my guys, please lynch him and shame admins on not banning him."
Yes, we know Sinful is not a pedo defender. But we ( /tg/ community) are not the audience for that video. It's the outside community that's the audience. And the outside will not have context, and will not think "he's an idiot/devil's advocate who tried too hard" and more "he fucking said banning underage porn for a year was not that bad was that guy right in the head". And it spreads and spreads and that's all you'll going to hear in the distillation.
Again, Sinful is just a idiot with horrible takes while Typhnox is complete cringe. But the situation could have easily gone very badly if what happened with Typhonx happened with Sinful.
Yeah honestly I didn't like how it was handled by everyone (Thomas, Barber, Imitates, the admins).kieth4 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 10:24 am

No one has been defending sinful to any regard.

It should have been handled then and there, bringing it up now serves zero purpose.
Completely correct.
Honestly I think it's worse. Typhnox was mostly being an idiot about definitions/being ignorant. Sinful is just plain saying pedo shit in books isn't that bad.CMDR_Gungnir wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 2:49 pmI don't think "A year for a book about pedo smut? That's a bit much- oh wait he lied to admins? It's justified" is particularly out of context, either.

Timberpoes wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 12:41 am From my perspective, players just want to genuinely be listened to. And I don't mean it condescendingly, but to genuinely have their say and for admins to listen, process it and reply. Even if you don't give two shits about what the player is saying, even if you disagree with every part of what they say, players are less likely to leave an ahelp pissed off if you've listened to them and given a reply that directly addresses what they've told you.
