Man, we've gotten a lot of juicy appeals this past couple of days.

For context, as a felind, I do a common speech gimmick that involves swapping the r's and l's in my sentences with w's. Fairly simple and harmless. Does not change the round in any real way. I do this every shift I play felind because I find it funny. Nothing more. This results in me explaining to her that's not justification to ruin my entire round like that. She says she's not a fan of what they did, but also that if I do annoying gimmicks I should expect negative attention? This baffles me even more as it sets the precedent that if you find someone's accent annoying, you can grief them, which is detrimental to an LRP community. If someone fucks with Roibeard over his Irish accent, is that also allowed? If someone targets Rick Hick because "He Talks In All Caps Like This" is that justifiable? I doubt she would make the same ruling in these scenarios. And even if she did, it's a ridiculous one. I try to explain why his reasoning is shoddy, and she comes out with yet another false accusation.

I'm kinda half inclined to agree with the complaint. If you don't like someone's speech gimmick, just ignore them. If you want to make conflict with them, don't do it in a way that violates the rules (IE taking Important And Valuable Things From Them for no reason as a non-antag). "Going out of your way to seriously negatively impact or end the round for someone with little IC justification is against the rules" I'd argue taking someone's PDA and ID falls under Seriously Negatively Impact, and that "I don't like the way they talk" is little IC justification because you can very easily just...walk away.

It makes sense to be confused if the admin accuses you of doing a "gimmick" when you speak in uwuspeak every round. To claim that's banbaiting is pretty excessive. The fact they asked about the chem beakers was also sort of odd, like they were searching for a reason to justify it or something.

Stealing someone's ID FNR is definitely a rule violation, whether or not they were talking in uwuspeak.

Also posting someone's notes publicly like that is sort of ehh. The headmins can check note history - just refer to it such that they can look it up.

3. with my cuwwent equipment, i couwd've somewhat continued m-my job as i awweady h-had botany chems, pwants uguu.., and seedsO.o but all that was taken away fow no w-weason.

The only "issue" i sorta take here is that viewing notes should be an after the fact instead of prior just so you dont have any preconceptions about the situation until the final call versus going in thinking theyre banbaiting which framed some of their questions uniquely.

The point of contention is if the uwu speak should be considered annoying in general. If so, I have zero qualms about getting harassed over it because youre doing something that is generally seen as annoying for no real purpose. There are plenty of speech gimmicks you are free to do that isnt a wide known annoyance among the internet (not even ss13 explicit), and quite frankly I think if that hasnt ever been considered by you then youre either being incredibly naive or concern trolling.

Basically if your gimmick was anything other than the widely known annoying uwu speak I would be 100% in your camp.

saying "just get a new ID LOL" is also unreasonable half the time, with HOP/captain fucked off to deal with engineering or just going on a validhunt adventure.

Not knowing you can link your account to a new ID is INCREDIBLY COMMON because most people just never try alt-clicking a fresh ID, and then you have to get the account info from the memories verb that people may not know exists yet. And THAT assumes the person who stole it didn't just empty your account from your old ID, in which case you're shit outta luck.

main issue with the ticket is the admin automatically assumed that typicalrig was behaving in bad faith. when he expressed confusion at "what gimmick," they could have easily calmly clarified what they meant, instead of accusing him immediately of lying
