You might have something funny, or perhaps it's just something random. Something that expresses you as a person, or a recognizable avatar for your online persona.
Some people change it often, some have never.
A good picture is recognizable, I would imagine that many people associate the man pictured on the left with my name in specific.
Weird to think about.

I read this thing probably in like 2008 about Vulva designing the L4D cover art and one of the things they did was going into a place that sold video games and looking at all the cover art on the shelves to figure out which colours and image would stand apart from what everybody else was doing. That's part of the thinking behind not having a profile picture. Not only is it minimalist and doesn't draw attention to itself, it also stands apart.

I really like this one and as such have had it for a while. I’ve seen it countless times now but it still hasn’t lost its charm for me. In the past I’ve chosen pfps that express me, but generally I think that I just prefer those which I like to look at and be associated with.
