I would feel this way if an execution wasn't attempted; I think once an intent to execute becomes clear, the gloves should largely come off in that respect. I don't know if that's in policy or not, but it should be.

No, that person is five levels above you but I am not sure that ban appeal is that helpful here because no clear stance was given by the banning admin on that and it was only brought up twice in that whole appeal once to bring it up and once by the banned player responding to it. But even if we use it for refence on how we stand with crass emotes that player is going into detail about it and Rick is just doing fart emotes which frankly gives character to him because it comes off as a dumbass with no manners along with him doing dumb shit like sleeping with the nuke disk. Which if you ask me is putting effort into roleplaying a character.

First off, the HOS trying to execute him doesn't mean that the HOP/Acting Captain should lose their meta-protections - that's a ridiculous precedent, you cant lose protections over someone else's actions.

Additionally, regarding the second question, I would say - no, the possibility of the HOP being an antagonist is not relevant. Why? Because the Acting Captain position is thrust upon a member of Command against their will and with no input from them, however, with the crew still assuming they will undertake all of the responsibilities of being the Captain (And most likely, with server administration bwoinking them if they dont, for taking a command role without being prepared to assume responsibility for taking that role). If the Acting Captain gets forced into the role against their will, they get the same meta-protections that go with it. You cant have it both ways, where theyre put into the role and have the responsibilities, but none of the rights. That's not fair.

In the same way it wouldn't fly if you stripped a secoff because "Oh there was a possibility he was a ling disguised as a secoff!", the chance of the HOP/Acting Captain being an antagonist similarly does not fly here unless and until you have seen them perform an antagonistic action, or have some other reason to think they're an antagonist, like someone calling them out as one over comms or something.
