I really do suggest anyone who's interested in joining the staff team to make an application *now* as even in the event of a denial they'll be able to reapply soon (If denied, you can reapply next headmin term)

I myself strive to give valuable feedback, and anyone else who's interested in you as a possible candidate will get time to have a one-on-one with you about certain events or experiences.
The admin application subforum has been a net positive for the staff team and its candidacy/training program as well as being a net positive for the playerbase, and I suggest people make use of the benefits it can provide.

The worst that can happen is a strongly-worded essay about how you're not ready for the staff team (as seen here) and even in cases like that there's suggestions on how and where to improve.
The best that can happen is trainers taking interest in you and just waiting for next headmin cycle to train you.

In short, no, they were not aggressive, in fact this was probably the best response for a rejection, telling you what you need to do to improve for a second chance.

And you spoiled it for yourself.

Omega told you the truth, which hurts, but that's the nature of truth. If they wanted to be aggressive, they would just say "fuck off and never apply again", but they went out of their way to point out where you failed, tell you that you were given chances to improve, and what you need to do to improve so that you can be considered for another try.

They told you to control your temper as an admin and act professionally when handling stuff. They told you to never admin abuse under any circumstances. They told you that you were deadminned because you chose to listen to requests someone ask you to get an edge instead of just outright ignoring it. We had admins deadminned for these. Game Masters. Even a host got his admin privileges removed for outright admin abuse.

But they still told you to improve and try again.

What you did pretty much validated Omega's response that you had a short temper. You not only posted the image with the title "Unreasonably aggressive admin application response(?) peanut", you later said :

You asked admins to be straight up with you and they did, telling you exactly why you were deadminned and they rejected your application. You could not take the criticism and instead did a knee-jerk reaction which ended up only opening yourself to more mockery and criticism. As Misdoubtful said, for your sake, continue to feel that way and do not regret it if you really want to never apply again. Otherwise, delete your image and apologise, because you pretty much torpedoed your chances of being elected for the next term.

It's understandable to be upset upon reading a response that goes into detail about how you're not cut out for the task, even if that detail is helpful for reapplying, I imagine it can be upsetting to read. It's more useful to consider the human side of this post than to repeat in 10 different ways how terrible OP is for daring to share their application with the public.

Personally I found it to be valuable, since it shows some of what goes on behind the scenes and the standards and practices the adminteam has for trialing new players. Regardless I think it's totally natural to be upset or to feel attacked by any rejection, detailed or not. I'm sure you would be too, although you might not ask for 2nd opinions on your own thread.

You're right, of course, but when part of the feedback is about 'accepting fault' or outward appearance it's easy to see why making a thread such as this is a bad look. There were ways how they could've shared the response without coming across as aggressive. "Hey guys, here is my experience of an admin application" would be fine.

They have the right to be upset and share the response, that doesn't mean we should be fully sympathetic if the intent was to call out the admin for giving out constructive criticism, which was what they asked for.

This thread and the discord argument yesterday (not linking pictures, it's in tgstation-general if you want to find it) showed that part of the intent was to call out Omega publically.
