tbh the problem a lot of us have with this ban isnt the specific ban, so much as the precedent it's possibly setting that people can now throw around words that exist solely to discriminate and be bigoted towards other people and get away with racism/homophobia/transphobia/etc unless we can make the solid argument that they were Being Bigoted somehow
maybe nothing'll come of it but either way its a pretty bad look
i don't think its a good precedent to set but i guarantee 95% of the playerbase that freely uses these words will probably find a way to get themselves banned sooner than later anyway, at least it makes them obvious shitters when they don't have to hide their use

It's not like empathy is a switch you can just turn on or off, either you care about other people's feelings or you don't. Some people do and some people don't.

I'm not sure space station is the best place to look for use cases of violence and escalation of conflict.

Sadly it's a multitude of greys sprinkled in with some emotions that can sometimes turn things black.
Simple solution is to just not say mean words so everyone can stay happy and not turn black. (racist????)

I forget that most people here mostly stay indoors and are physically weak but people have fights over words pretty much constantly. It's not the first or last time I'll beat someone's ass because they're harassing me and insulting me just to be a jerk.
There's limits to civility and it comes to a point you need to show someone their actions have consequences.
