On the topic of Iron Shortages, whenever I make 100 borg shells the station runs out of iron and glass. How can this problem be fixed without me having leave the station? I already raid other departments for metal and chairs/tables/floortiles to keep metal stocks up.

People want solo methods to get things because a majority of the time if you want to do your job, or autism projects, depending on other people is a fast track to it not happening.

It's a multiplayer game with resource limitations within a sandbox. Everyone pulls from the same pool of resources. You have to accept that things cannot be ideal in every scenario. Even the ability to complete tasks that take metal and glass.

If you hold everyone in such contempt for being in the same game as you, then by all means just start stripping the station walls, windows and machinery down for metal and glass. At least then you'll have some interaction with the rest of the server, for however long everyone tolerates it IC and administratively. But I think nothing entitles you to an ideal round. Explicitly, these problems are a part of the experience. You make of the experience what you will, and you make your own solutions to problems.

PDAing botany to grow ironwood is basically a free action as I see it

it takes forever to grow ironwood i think and you also have to process it into iron which is its own process. pdaing botany would be like a 5% success rate with a 30 minute delay

Followup idea: increase the express delivery cost so chefs consider botany more. Do need to see the blackbox statistics tho.

Chef and botany are the only jobs that legitimately make me feel stressed out playing them so far.

Try matrix traps, for some reason they start a multiplicative loop of resonator explosions on stone, that clears rocks arguably even faster than 1 streak at a time plasma cut stripmining (that instantly mines 10 tiles at a time in a single line-trajectory for simple plasma costage). For some reason, the counter-point to (our good faith mining is bad) is to make all mining as quick as possible, so you can quickly not be indebted to give minerals to hunt monsters quicker.

With the resonator being so good, there's no reason to bring a pickaxe out other than as a backup shovel for infinite sand. On which note, whoever thought it was a funny idea to nerf Lava-golems by deconstructing the ORM to slow them down by 5 minutes (go to south fuel-bay, deconstruct both R-Windows and print out the parts to rebuild it) and also make lava golems pay premium export rates on every single miner-reward vendor just needs to get a real-life hobby or re-hire at fulp or goonstation for the terminally boring.

The premium export rate is the original price of the item, getting it on the shuttle is discounted from the original price.
I am a big fan of the resonator, I’m not sure it’s faster but it feels more satisfying.
