Admins have two roles: They DM rounds and they enforce rules. In my opinion, having to enforce rules is the price you pay for getting to DM rounds

Oh and I like to think I'm more important than other people

I played a whole lot during the lockdown and eventually they asked me "wanna admin" so I said sure.
I never adminned on anything else before, but I was already hanging on the servers for most of the day, so I thought "why not help keep the servers clean, might be fun?"
Then sunk cost fallacy said I could never leave.

I recall having conversations with admins and their view was that terry didn't have any rp and needed its standards raised.

I meanwhile felt that it was absolutely fine.

I don't mind tiders, I don't mind some goofy shit being said ect. I want to keep the lrp standards as what they are.

Ya, sometimes everyone needs a kick though because as I've said before we all get lost in goblin mode and need to be reminded that we can't be in it 24/7

• Originally joined up as jannie because @ the time sybil didn't have enough admin presence
• Became a trainer because I figured I was pretty alright and more importantly I've been an admin trainer in the past (pre-tg) - plus I like teaching people
• Eventually grew disinterested with sybil because of server culture changes, (higher pop with lesser rp = fast-paced rocket tag shitfest that I wasn't a fan of) stopped adminning as much (though I get on once a week or two in order to see a few rounds go by/stay in touch with the community and take tickets)
• Became a discord jannie because polcon didn't have enough DJ presence and I figured that I should continue to give back with my time if I wanted to remain a jannie anyway

I like tg a lot, it was my first server, and I want to see it do well
the only way I can do that to any reasonable degree is through the administrative team, so I'm an admin
I'd have ran for headmin again last cycle, but holy shit if being an admin is already draining even the elections cycle for headmin is worse

If I were an admin, it'd probably be to run events, have fun minor interactions with players that they don't typically see(i would honestly hand out a lot of BEST COOKIEs).
adminning isn't about making the round great for admins, it's about making the round great for players, whether that means minor interactions, an entire event, or kicking out some guy for violating rule 1.

i knew barely anything about tg politics when i was offered to be an admin, it was back when people were adminned based entirely on whether someone in the admin team liked them or not.
jcll thought i was nice (she found out im a woman) and had someone candidate me. that's when i learned about everything and i became jaded

Headmin first time because I thought I could make a positive difference.

Headmin this time because I got pissed off at stuff and wanted to bring things back on track.

Accepted roles on other servers with the the clear cut goal and reason of being there being people asking me to change things, redo foundations, etc. It usually worked, or at least set a better foundation for things to be built on. Adminned a few other servers primarily just because people knew me, or because I was chill or did the funny. Some I did more admin things on than others. Some servers I was just so busy I rarely got to log on.

Got kidnapped as like a 600(?) hour player or something on TG by Rave. I'd probably only been back on TG (after years) for maybe 100-200 hours at that point.

So made me want to do it specifically? I don't know. I've never been particularly excited about doing it, not several years ago, not today either. I don't take this hobby even remotely as seriously as other people just try to be down to earth about things. Maybe that's a valuable, rare perspective and approach considering people can easily spend hours and hours a day on TG and some take it super seriously.

At this point I only really only do these sorts of things if people ask me to. Pretty boring.

I didn’t choose to admin. I was kidnapped. Honestly I HAVE NO IDEA why I chose to make an application for Admin. I wasn’t picked, I just decided myself to make an application. I was already obscure before I made an application.

But I guess the main reason was to do something for the player base. Yeah, sure, making tickets and handling ahelps is one of the jobs of a admin, and, honestly it helps with training yourself with conflict resolution. But the main thing I wanted to do was to make rounds more interesting and help out when needed. That’s why I mainly focus on being on the player side of things.
