it’s my favorite by far. probably the best headmin term i’ve been around for

- they’ve resolved ALL the fucking policy and appeal threads halfway into the term??? what??? unheard of
- cool policy decisions
- have not yet made a terrible powercrazed 1984 post with long patriarchal paragraphs
- 2/3 regularly play the game and the other is exempt
- not afraid to disrupt things and piss off a few admins that want them to be purple figureheads
- actual human responses on ban appeals instead of INTERNAL DISCUSSIONS tower preaching

Good team, only mildly silly decision was the candy freeze which has caused a large influx of candymins (like me) post freeze which is gonna cause another big ol’trialmin review period like we have right now.

Thankfully, we have the room and scope to deal with it. Thanks to the freeze, we've eliminated basically policy and ban appeal backlogs. Right now there's not actually much to do other than deal with the 7 (and counting) trial reviews.

If our term can keep hammering out policy and appeals promptly, we've got all the time in the world for other stuff.

It's gone better than I expected. I was worried when Kieth won a vote, but he's been pretty alright. Lots of rule changes that I agree with.

I really like this term. I feel as though they've consistently made good policy choices, they're active, overall a great team. My only complaint is they're a little slow, but I prefer quality to quantity.

We love our bigcatmins + misdoubtful!!

Runs events which all boil down to "pray for something, get what you prayed for maybe" resulting in any round they get their hands on turning it a mess of antag loot and admin only things. Has demonstrated such an excessive degree of micromanaging other admins that I outright refuse to admin on the server alongside them as they turn what I normally consider an enjoyable experience into an miserable slog.

Has any other admin had this experience? It's not like I can see admin channels, but it feels like you are on a bit of an anti-MisKiethPoes crusade.

i would say most admins are not bold enough to venture their opinions so publicly so you would never know.

I havent had any negative experiences with this headmin group, as I usually end up siding with their takes on a lot of matters! I see where Nameless is coming from, but I really think its a massive reach.

Probably not talked about as much. There is more Terry sector players, applying for admin slots and... being accepted as well? Without being denied up to six times in a row.

I do enjoy this headmin term over the previous one. Change of hands from fast burnt out, shut out to actively talking to wall of murky water. I haven't heard of any LRP/MRP complaints too, or bickering of Manuel on other sectors. So something the trio are doing, is correct, in players eye.

I am impressed with the quality controlled bans, even though some of the reasons are a bit bullshit and still looking forward to seeing if inactive admins, get forced deadmin.

it sounds to me more like you two just disagree but in the end since he’s headmin he’s gonna go with what he agrees with of course. what would you prefer that he do besides agree with you and then rule in a way you like?

I think in a lot of cases I push ideas that I believe represent the player base. It's not so much not seeing it from a different perspective- I just disagree with the other perspective a lot of the time. I try to keep my thoughts very player-centric. Do you have any examples of specific events so I can lay out my thought process to you?

Timber is easy to talk to. He uses way more words than he needs to, but it's not exhausting to read at least, and he's good at reaching compromises. Sometimes preachy, but we're all preachy. I do wish he didn't just drop generic statements like "Admins are bad at X" without providing a solution though. Overral, pretty good.

Kieth is impossible to argue with. He'll say "nah, this is it" and that's that. So having discussions with Kieth involved is pointless. No giving ground whatsoever. I can only hope in the INTERNAL DISCUSSIONS towers there's good discussion, since they're being really productive at least.

At the end of the day, this isn't a democracy. Even if I disaprove of part of their behaviour, if they're doing their jobs as headmin, that's as much as I can as for. This is a very "we're doing our jerbs" term. I don't think there's gonna be any breakthroughs.

I guess, though, on a point of fairness, there has been a lot of new hires in the admin team (including myself and a bunch of amazing people), which I love to see, and a lot of dedication has been put to not have an extensive backlog.

I agree that Nameless' case was pretty petty, since it was all caused by that one note being overturned after them and the player agreed to modify it without prior headmin request. There is no question about it. But Kieth going to their feedback thread and doing the same is just as, if not more, petty.

Just sit back and enjoy the drama, I think. Meanwhile us admins will continue to work in the ticket mines and spawn 500 bears. Ultimately, harping around these subjects is pointless.

Scariest thing is, headmin-internally he's been a pleasure to work with. Conversations are super productive. He's been incredibly supportive of my platform and goals, even where they may be a little anti-player (like QC bans) and even when I'm being difficult or frustrating.

In return it's personally refreshing to have new perspectives that can't simply be ignored or disregarded. The internals of this term are quite compelling, with interesting challenges but also a really cool echo chamber shattering effect. Kieth has a bunch of alternative takes that would ordinarily never reach the headmin ivory tower channels.

Few people genuinely expected Kieth to succeed. I always expected clashes with the admin team; not just because of his stances on things but because he honestly has no experience of how fucking heated admin team discussions get. We get SPICY when we disagree on a topic. And discussions are exhausting.

Combine that with the admin team being especially largo. Filled to the brim with varied and bombastic personalities too.

Take it from a second term headmin, you can VERY quickly leave a headmin term with a new anti-admin cynicism you never had before. For personalities like myself and ESPECIALLY Kieth, we need to self-manage that in order to stave off burnout over a 6 month term when you're not universally adored.

I really like this headmin team. During the election I put Timber at #1 and Kieth at #2. (I mean really Kieth never really stood a chance of winning the admin vote). I'm very pleased with how they are doing. If they ran again I would vote the same way.

I think our little republic style system for headmins is very good because unless you're very persuasive both admins and players share an equal near zero power to control the headmins in any way other than suggestions and voting.

Unelected positions making the rules for people generally ends up poorly so regular admins and players having equal power in terms of policy creation and discussion is a very good thing.
