2. not gonna let some floorlicker Ghost Player (DEAD DUE TO SKILL ISSUES) take over my character
3. i dont really care that much i usually play cult but sometimes when cult is called i just dont have the energy to deal with them so i just disengage with the round at large just to avoid getting converted and forced to play cult.
4. i think forcing players to disengage with rounds sooner is a bad call. i think you should be able to go "no i dont want to play cult" asap in the conversion process rather than being forced to Pretend To Care (you are never expected to actually contribute to the team, ever.)

i associate static names to people way more than i associate their ckeys to them. it's just how it goes. i put zero effort and care into my statics i just dont want the association with Floorlicker Ghost Players

i would honestly probably just ahelp and ask the admin to randomize my character. but also i dont know how to randomize player appearance and not sure if any admins would know how. i'd feel weird asking someone to figure out how to randomize my character. idk like i'd be extremely pissed if the admin says "lolno" and i dont expect admins to bend to my requests like that

This also extends to when Command/Security mindshield implanting an individual to their side in said modes. At most within team antagonist, it is expected players to not maliciously harm their team's progress and assist if they are able to the best of their abilities.

This is interesting. I feel like this part doesn't get enforced(and shouldn't imo), like if sec comes in flashbanging/teargassing medical force implanting everyone what does "assisting in the best of their abilities" look like? Does a medical doctor have to join in on the goon squad, do they have to render medical assistance even if sec are going turboshitters? This seems like a weird thing to say "You MUST be a centcom loyalist" when they were changed from loyalty implants to mindshield implants back in 2016.

I hate the idea of my character being controlled by some random but I LOVE paradox clones. It is fun seeing some shitty clone of your character and being able to interact with them in character. With chanelings trying to copy you it's also not as bad as there is an IC reason for why your character is not the same. But for a random ghost role take over? What's the IC reasoning for it? Your character suddenly gets a new personality?... yeah, no. I ain't a fan of that and I'd rather not deal with that. I like playing cult though so I don't have to worry about having my character taken over for whatever reason.

A lot of players see their 2D spaceman as an actual character. I play Manuel so it's way more common there. but there are actual characters with self imposed rules and personality quirks. You may see that as cringe but it's really fun to play that way and is why I don't get burned out. Try it for a while! Its like playing DnD but in a spess game.

if a jannie knows how to offer you to ghosts they probably know how to change your name too (click on spessman's name in top left, it changes name, ID and PDA in a single click) so just ask, noob. if someone holds a grudge because they saw you do something goofy while you were being controlled by someone else then they're a shithead and should stop holding grudges, there are plenty of mechanics that play with identity and taking other people's appearance. if some dipshit gets super bent out of shape about it then you can either tell them "dude that wasn't me calm down" or they can go to scrubby and see that it wasn't you in the logs.

and sorry but the worst players of this game are those that can't cope when things don't go their way. if you want others to respect it when you win then you should be humble and play your role when you get owned and converted. it's part of the game and in all honesty it's a shitty move to just go "nah not playing" when you get converted. there is a difference between not being able to play any more because your house is on fire or the round is going on too long and you have to get up for your job fighting ghosts in the netherworld or whatever but quitting because boohoo you lost but the antag requires you to stick around and play a new role for it to work is some of the most baby shit i've ever heard.

and yeah if you want to be offered up to ghosts but want your name changed so people don't think it's you then i would have 0 issue accommodating that, it takes no effort at all

if you want to suicide to prevent a conversion, that's a skill issue on the cult's part, since they should have had you restrained or stunned.

As Cobby pointed out, this is literally an inconsistency in our rules we now have to put up with, as the suicide verb is not a legal method for AI's to kill themselves to prevent subversion. In that instance, it is regarded as OOC.

I really do not like these arbitrary lines being drawn like this. Why is the ghost verb OOC but the suicide verb IC (but not for AI) when they both accomplish the same thing of separating the mob from the player? Because you can do one of them restrained? Are we literally determining whether you get banned on a knowledge check to know the difference? What about the fucking signaller suicide that could be done while restrained?

This is clunky policy for both players to understand and admins to adjudicate because we'll definitely have to come back and consult headmins if this ever comes up. Especially if players work out this arbitrary loophole exists.

It's been a year (or two?) since I've gotten to play cult, but usually I would just ignore the magic part and treat it like revs. There's nothing stopping you from looting armory, bombing sec, or subverting the AI as cult. (Unless the summoning site is in sec please don't bomb it then)
Now, if you don't want to play revs, you should play it like tot without TC. If you think about it sacrifice victims are a lot like assassination objectives.
If you don't want to play tot or revs than just do your job in such a way that it benefits the cult (cut power to enemy locations, make buffs, develop a special nar-sie maxcap to be used for religious purposes.)

And if you don't want to do your job then I have no answer for you.

see this is something that also kinda confuses me. because you don't HAVE to do anything for your team. you just can't do anything to shaft your team. ghosting/suiciding as soon as you're captured at least makes it so that cultists don't waste their time further or waste their time bothering "Saving" you later on

This x 100000, if nothing else you can just drop all your cult items and treat it as a free antag knowing you cant go against the cult. Cutting comms and delamming the SM goes a long way for group antags, who can thrive under the chaos
