I've debated a lot of similar things. I fear and revile my own nature, but does that matter if nobody else sees this in me?

Does what you truly are ever truly matter, when all we are is the perceptions of others?

Just as we should not base all our perceptions of ourselves upon that others give to us, so too is it all we are to them.

In this sea of sophomoric-isms, I mean only to say that, at least for me, I am nothing but a collection of masks that others perceive.

I once knew a guy so in his own head he was going fucking crazy, absolutely insane.

He goes thirty years of his life in his head, he's a smart guy. Too smart but he needs to get out of his head.

He is in his head constantly, can't get out of his head. So he compensates by taking vices, he has about ten kids in the meantime. He doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, none of that hard shit.

Now he prides himself on this, I won't ever drink or smoke. Won't never do it, couldn't wouldn't shouldn't.

One day he gets in a court case for one his children because he got scratched on his face, the mother sues him. He was studying to be a medical nurse and get out of the current shit hes in.

Now his girl leaves him, takes his son away from him. He smokes, he drinks. Is this man truly smart? He always acts like a idiot ain't shit about him right.

This man looked at his newborn baby, held him in his arms. Saw thousands of possibility's where each his son is a king. Does he truly love or is it just the feeling of his imagination running wild.

A Bohemian would tell you, in their hedonistic ways, that was is life for without living? Without partaking in each bit of fun you can, without trying every morsel of food in sight, without picking up any scratch you can get your hands on and throwing it to the wind?

What's the use of living every day like it's your last when you still have to plan for tomorrow

But what, indeed, is life without living? Is it worth it to stand, sober and alone, and face the next day? Is it worth it for the promise of a better future? A future that is not guaranteed, that you must make with your own hands?

And why shouldn't you take that bottle, take another drag of that stubby little stick of cancer in your hands, why not light up the bud?

But, at the end of the day, what is all that for? Should you be doing something more drastic? After all, we only live once, right? Why not throw a bigger party? Why not run for office? Why not do any of millions of things you only have this life to do, instead of wasting it all on your damn vices?
