Alright guys, as per the other thread, it seems everyone has come to a consensus that the playerbase, the admins, and the coders will all come to a consensus on who they want to elect to the headmin triumvirate. It seems to be agreed upon that the admins and coders will figure out who their choice will be on their own, but we need to figure out how the players will choose.

The options are an ingame poll, a poll here on the forums, or a poll elsewhere. There are pros and cons to all these options (I wont get into them here) but this is basically the only thing we haven't unanimously agreed upon essentially. Let's also just assume that all polls will provide links to each individual candidate's nomination thread/post. Let's also all agree that if the poll is held not in game, the poll would be left open for a solid amount of time and be linked to in the server's MOTD and the admins will pester people to vote regularly through announcements.

Also, let's just all agree that those voting in the poll and discussing in the other thread should be left up to this decision. Let's not go down the rabbit hole of asking "What's really democratic?" and claiming we should be also having this poll ingame.

So sayeth SoS that you don't need to be a member of the current admin team to run, but you do personally need to contact him before you'll be accepted and all that.

In game poll seems to have won.

I can rig something up to detect and ignore dupe votes.

How you ask? I will announce the method after the vote has been closed and allow users to review it before it is used to declare the official result.

Can we set up the voting to be a different method than First Past the Post, though?

I'll chat with MSO/Scaredy about this. If we can't, we'll do a run off and just eliminate anyone who got below a certain threshold of votes.
