Non-Antag gangs

Gangs, but without the non-consentual membership, guns, dominator or antag status.
Still with the gang uniforms, spraying tags everywhere and Bling.
The point would be RP, and an in game justification for metafriends, as well as metabreaking and giving non-lethal criminals that sec can deal with if they're bored/it's extended/it's nuke and the ops arrive 30 minutes in.
But really just RP. Gangs would also be able to choose what their symbol is, pen would work as normal, but would have a prompt to the person asking if they want to join the gang. Still only usable by lieutenants or gang head.

you can already do this
3 necklaces are found in the autodrobe if you have coins
spraycans are in the autolathe
uniforms are ~whatever you want them to be~

i once ran a 3-man gang called the "cyka gang" during a shadowling round, it was really really fun (and ended tragically. CYKA GANG FOREVER, SHADOW GANG FOR NEVER)

Yeah all the tools for this already exist on station. All you need are some non shitlers to rp with and you're sweet.

Problem with doing this is as soon as it steps on someones toes admins will come down on you hard. They'd be more or less obligated to eventually let security arrest them because any actual force on their side would end in bans.

If admins are dunking rp gangs for trying to shake down the chemist for bathsalts or something, that's pretty stink yo.

Well, it'd be slightly different. Let me elaborate.
It'd keep the gang device and pen, making it look exactly the same to an officer like an actual gang, so it'd be metabreaking.
It'd also keep track of how much of the station you have tagged, so if your TunnelSnakes tag 80% of the station you have that as an informal goal.
If our RP is greytide gangs that roam through maint, it's better then what we have right now.

We had bar gangs once and that ended really badly

I used to do a "gang" gimmick with a couple people where we would go around heisting high value targets trying to see how long we could steal without getting permabrigged.

Mind you, we didn't involve anyone in this harmfully, the rules were no attack of people except for stun and run. And we would space it out so people didn't get upset

Maybe instead of a gang, a heist crew like Techno.

Could be a midround antag-style objective thing at random. You could get a PDA message from an anonymous person with an offer. If you agree by entering a code in your PDA, you get objectives, but one objective would be 'harm nobody', and a series of heist objectives, and a list of your fellow heist crew members, and a place to meet.

Dude i remember that, was some fun converting people in the face with spraycans. That is until i got converted
