Break rev flash meta
FLASH, LYNCH HE is the current meta, because the only item revs use is the flash.
Having other items such as pens, health scanners or whatever would break that meta.
Perhaps chameleon items are also an option.

Re: Break rev flash meta
Simply adding a stun back to the item and giving it reason to exsist outside rev/rogue borgs would remove the meta as people would have a reason to carry them.

Re: Break rev flash meta
In these trying times, there is one question that resonates within the hearts of all free players of space station thirteen. "Why do people think of the most important thing is that it is not the same thing as the first place in the world of difference between the two thousand seven hundred and fifty percent of Americans who are not responsible for maintaining the security of the line?"
Or something to that effect.
Or something to that effect.

Just make 'convert' a thing revheads can do. It'd also help identify who the head is out of a croud if he had hypnotic eyes or whatever.

Re: Break rev flash meta
Would it screw up anything to let people make flashes at hacked autolathes? Would make them more common.

Re: Break rev flash meta
no
It doesn't use any information that can only be obtained through OOC means, therefore, it's not meta. It's accepted IC knowledge- the crew is able to tell that flashes being used seemingly at random for no reason right after a code blue alert is a warning sign of revs, just like husked bodies with no blood is a sign of lings, or blood runes being a sign of cult.
If you think security going defcon 1 the moment they hear flashes is a bad thing, why? It's a small, isolated space station where security and head of staff lives might be cut short by the entire crew turning into bloodthirsty murderers, it would be strange and almost meta to play the pretend game and hesitate when you hear flashes going off. It's not traitor where there is the possibility of subtlety and slower-paced interactions, it's a deathmatch round where interactions are hard and fast and focus on the action and tension, not 'ohh we're not sure if it's r-rev or not, I guess I'm t-too imcompetent or s-scared to immediately go l-loyalty test this griefer who a-attacked me'.

Re: Break rev flash meta
flash stunning again would be neat but it's not related as sec still freaked out back then, it was just more obvious because flashes made a person go down when converted

Re: Break rev flash meta
It's more that if the stuns came back, more people would carry them FOR the stun, thus see more widespread usage like before, and not be an immediate "THIS GUY HAS A FLASH EXECUTE HIM"

Re: Break rev flash meta
I don't think we ever let players do the ol' 'flash in hand? better send you to ghost land' thing, we always required some modicum of common sense e.g. not killing roboticists with flashes at roundstart or at least doing one loyalty implant test first.
