Department Sec Preferences
Department Sec Preferences
Before Roundstart a player should be able to select the (high, med, low) priority for various departmental security positions.
What is open for discussion: Should we allow for the I only want Sci Security Officer as High and NONE for rest of Security Officer Departments?
Anymore thoughts?

Re: Department Sec Preferences
I'd include a "general" officer preference too, for people who don't want to be departmentalized, its quite often I see armbands lying around the brig from sec officers who don't want to play bellhop.
Frequently playing as Aria Bollet on Bagil & Scary Terry

Re: Department Sec Preferences
Why would you want this as opposed to "Department" vs "non-assigned Officer"? I can see why someone may not want to be in a department or not as an officer, but I can't see why someone would want a specific department.

Cargo cop is like THE best job ever as long as you and your bros come to a mutual understanding that they're gonna want to order a lot of sketchy shit but they got your back as long as you keep telling the HoS everything perfectly fine.ExcessiveCobblestone wrote:Why would you want this as opposed to "Department" vs "non-assigned Officer"? Re: Department Sec Preferences
You know how reassuring it is to have a medbay secrep there to throw out niggers and to keep peace in medbay. Makes me absolutely wet from happiness that someone actually will help and care for the doctors as they treat people. And to be the secrep its glorious to be be the person from stopping medbay from turning into a mini version of suicide hopline.ExcessiveCobblestone wrote:Why would you want this as opposed to "Department" vs "non-assigned Officer"? So yes we need departmental sec choice.

I like sci sec because people are always trying to break in, and it's a hotbet for antags who want R&D candy.

Re: Department Sec Preferences
This is a pretty good idea, just remember to add unassigned. I rarely see department sec doing their job, everyone knows it's just there for the extra access, and of the extra access to have, medical and cargo are probably the most useful. Cargo for rev rounds and medical is useful anyday.

Re: Department Sec Preferences
Dept pref or ability to opt out of specific depts would be fine. Getting Eng Guard for example is the worst damn job you can get (unless you want tools and insuls, which case good news), engineers are no where to be found and if they are around they don't give two shits about since they already do a good job of looting anything useful in their department and you can't possibly cover either of the areas you need to watch from your shack (atmos and PA)
I do kinda wish there was a service's guard who could play bouncer for the bartender and throw drunk people out/into their own little drunk tank and get a chance to help out with botanists and chef during the queit times.
