I'd like to suggest making the following areas camera accessible:
maintenance room north of fitness and patient room 2
reason for this is that currently, due to mapping changes, the AI no longer has access to the APC's of Medbay, Fitness and Courtroom which are large public areas it should have some form of control over and used to have up until about a month ago

If you give one to the ops though, other people on the station need watches.
Give a box of them to the cap to use instead of gloves or something?

I can't remember who, but someone was a fucking genius and suggested in OOC that we should be able to...
Wear buckets as helmets!
Bucket to head could be a poor man's blindfold. Throwing a bucket at someone would give a chance to land on their head (if they had no other headgear), making them blind until they took the bucket off! Maybe you could drill/carve eyeholes to buckets and use them as helmets!

Speaking of carpets, we need to be able to make those somewhere, probably in the bioregenerator.
We also should add in a "carpet bomber" mech weapon, that only replaces a 3x3 area with carpets.
Joe Smoe (Assistant) says "The clown is carpet bombing the hallway again!"

The RCD objective is a joke, the crate's right there in an easily accessible area with no blocks whatsoever on it. No other objective to my knowledge is like this (except maybe the jetpack, but that has a downside in that it's bulky. Magboots were replaced.) The autolathe thing is still there if you want easy mode.

Its more of a fire extinguisher with a much larger holding capacity, pretty good for what it does but it's a shame that extinguishers tend to suck in stopping plasma fires.
If anything, a extinguisher is more something you use to delay the inevitable, I once went through four extinguisher's trying to stop a fire, which failed.

Re: Minor Suggestions
I have a minor, or somewhat anyway, suggestion.
What would people say to a relook at SS13's (Or at least our) lore? Not a overhaul in terms that would require a rewrite of all in game lore references. But more of a remaking of the back story that maintains consistency with what we have in game, but somewhat tone's down the ultra grim dark and moves NT away from being the sole galactic superpower.
It's a pet peeve of mine (I know). I'm a sucker for lore but I feel our lore is a bit lacking, or is a bit extreme.

I would LOVE to take a look at a lore overhaul. Perhaps give a good reason why we have so much retro technology on the station, open up room in the backstory for other companies besides the Syndicate subsidiaries, and maybe even go into the effect of cloning and "immortality" on the human condition. Would anyone mind if I gave this a try?Steelpoint wrote:I have a minor, or somewhat anyway, suggestion.

Re: Minor Suggestions
I'd rather not canonize anything outside of a small one-to-two sentence blurb about research station, plasma, yadda yadda.
Everything else being up to people's imaginations helps curb the NO THIS IS CANON YOU'RE NOT ROLEPLAYING RIGHT bs. I really, really doubt either of the codebases are RP-heavy enough to justify some kind of lore writeup that we declare canon. You should be able to find out things about the lore through the game and its gameplay -- The jumpsuits, the clowns which are pretty much just there for crewmembers to punch, the thug ass security, the plasma tank connected to the fucking air supply for literally no reason other than NT potentially turning the station into a giant science project about whether or not burning plasma is good for humans.

Re: Minor Suggestions
The thing with the lore though is that most of the lore we do have is never referenced in game, the furtherest the lore goes is for individual corporations or very unique people, whereas we have a unused back story. Thus any changes to the back story would not affect the actual lore we have in game, the only thing that would need to be preserved is the year (2554) and Nanotrasen and the antagonistic corporations.
Also the current lore is not well written, "1948 Earth gets its first contact".... It feels fragmented at times.

I think I've seen a lore about NT's hiring standards somewhere, which says that those who arrive on the station after the start of the shift are literally given a list of positions; in other words, what we have in the game. I can't find it, though.

Re: Minor Suggestions
We had a thread about glowing party sticks and other pretty lights, right?
The Singularity and Gravity Generator should produce a beautiful, shimmering ambience light.
Purple light from the Singularity (although theoretically shouldn't a black hole be sucking light? Maybe it could produce just darkness...) and green ambient lightning from the Gravity Generator Room would be so cool.
And Nar'Nar could produce an alarming, strong, red light aura!
Tcomms, AI Upload and AI Chamber could have a light blue ambience because of the blue floors.
And on another note it would be awesome if the rotating sun would actually produce light outside in space, instead of whole space being a lighted up environment.
Oh and it should be made possible to build the TEG (Thermo Electric Generator) on any station through supply crates and assembling or by manually building them from scratch.

Confront them with annihilation, and they will then survive; plunge them into a deadly situation, and they will then live. When people fall into danger, they are then able to strive for victory.
