Malf AIs losing for leaving the z-level
Vote here: http://strawpoll.me/4008011
The ability of borgs to relocate malf AIs to places like the derelict, mining station, and gulag, where they almost always win (especially with the mining station and derelict) has been a large balance issue for quite a while. What do you think?

They should have to be attached to the physical station itself too. Same as blob rules basically.

Re: Malf AIs losing for leaving the z-level
A Malfunctioning AI should fail if it leaves the z-level, period. It is not possible to force a Malf to leave against its will. Brilliant are the AIs that relocate to a different area of the station, but setting up in the DJ station where no one can find or attack them until it is too late is boring for both the AI and the crew. Get your borgs to prepare your autism fortress some place in maintenance. The fun is making the crew fight tooth and nail against your upgraded defenses, or desperately hunt you down in the deepest bowels of the station that even assistants dare not tread!

If you have a special condition for it (like when revs/heads "flee the station"). The AI didn't kill the crew and the station is safe (for now) but the malfunctioning AI is still out there and hostile.
A minor victory for the crew instead of a major victory.

The poll is pretty strongly in favor of the malf AI losing, so it should probably lose instead of the less harsh "have progress stop until it returns" idea I suggested.

Wouldn't it die from losing power on the way? Unless a teleporter was set up or something...
The most excessive signature on /tg/station13.
Still not even at the limit after 8 fucking years.
The evil holoparasite user I can't believe its not DIO and his holoparasite I can't believe its not Skub have been defeated by the Spacedust Crusaders, but what has been taken from the station can never be returned.
OOC: TheGel: Literally a guy in a suit with a shuttle full of xenos. That's a doozy

White Shuttle doesn't give the AI power does it?

It has to or else it wouldn't power the computer to actually use the shuttle.

That's what you'd think about the emergency shuttle but the AI still loses power there. Unless that got fixed very recently.MisterPerson wrote:It has to or else it wouldn't power the computer to actually use the shuttle.

The emergency shuttle is magically lit/powered (if the machines even draw power). It had no APC. iirc the white shuttle has an apcSaegrimr wrote:That's what you'd think about the emergency shuttle but the AI still loses power there. Re: Malf AIs losing for leaving the z-level
Oh yeah, I forgot AI's actually directly look for APC's instead of just checking if the area is powered.
