Children's card game

To improve QUALITY, i suggest we have a children's card game and it shall be called Duel Spacemen.

The cards will be just like yu-gi-o (card armband and all) but be spess man oriented and upon examining the card (or hologram) the player will know the cards special effect. I am willing to make every single card and ability if this actually pushes through.

It could be played on the holodeck for holograms of the spessmen. Emagging the holodeck turns the monsters in play sentient and just attack anyone on sight. That or make the card armband lock onto the players hand making it impossible to remove until one of the players lose. If the player's life points drop to 0 or leave the holodeck with the locked arm band on they explode.

To be robust is not about combat prowess, it is the state of readiness for the situation at hand.

Could have the cards be orderable through Cargo, and probably ridiculously valuable. Also, Syndicate playing cards are playable.

Different decks could be.

NT or syndicate decks for example.

Goonstation has a version of this called "Spaceman: The Griffening"

It plays vaugely like magic the gathering, and i remember having a tournament in which the loser killed themselves out of shame

overall it is a funny addition.

There are already a lot of gambling/board games on the station, including cards against humanity. No one ever fucking plays them, because nobody has the attention span to remain still for more than a minute. Do we really need one more unused feature?

Probably want to go for style over substance with a game like this. Easy to play, lots of over-elaborate descriptions, and an emagged holodeck is likely to kill both players if they use overly dramatic special attacks from all the poorly controlled special effects.

Yeah, no one is going to step away from adventuring on the surface of not-hell, doing mad science, or committing a hundred counts of murder to play solitaire but with an incredibly cumbersome interface. However, something fun and flashy that doesn't take much effort to play would probably be a fun, if somewhat shallow, diversion.

Give the Wizard a duel disk and deck item that can summon real monsters, while we're at it.
