Implants should be their own surgery
Implants being put under organ manipulation makes no sense. You aren't manipulating organs, you are putting an implant in.
In my experience it is very unintuitive and novice surgeons never know what surgery to perform.

alternatively, rename organ manipulation to organ/implant manipulation.

He's talking about putting special science implants into someone's body. They're treated like organs whereas I think normal implants aren't?terranaut wrote:implant removal is its own surgery gamer

Thanks for proving my point that the naming is confusing.terranaut wrote:implant removal is its own surgery gamer
Things like tracking/mindhsields implants have the remove implant surgery.
However CNC rebooters, reviver implants, surgical/engineering arm implants are also called implants but use the organ manipulation surgery.
Then there is augmentation, which is basically the same thing but with cyborg parts and that is augmentation surgery and that doesn't remove the original limb (getting better eyes of course requires removing the old ones).
But if you don't want a robotic limb but a prosthetic one or a chainsaw its prosthetic replacement and suddenly the original limb has to be gone.
It's honestly rather a mess.

Consistent termoinology would be greatly appreciated.
It shouldn't be expected for anyone who wants to playy med to have to make a list of every implant and the surgery asociated with it.

Re: Implants should be their own surgery
I think the surgeries we should have are:
Augmentation surgery: Adding or removal of all implants or cyborg parts. Mindshields, revivers, toolsets, cnc rebooters, cyborg limbs etc
Organ replacement: Adding and removing organs
Limb replacement: add or remove limbs
I also think the eye upgrades such as x-ray and welding eyes would be more appropriate as implants.
Organ "manipulation" is also a somewhat vague term and it should be renamed to organ replacement, especially after implant surgery is removed from it. Cybernetic organs stay under organ replacement.
