Species Diversity Ideas

So we've been discussing this on coderbus for the past few days: species currently don't have enough distinguishing features that make them unique. Hence, I'd like ideas for improving them. Lizards, moths, plasmamen and ethereals are fair game (Also feel free to discuss felinids but it's unlikely stuff for them would get approved).

Special reactions to specific reagents, maybe, kinda like slimepeople invert poison damage (although not necessarily to that extent). Would give them some uniqueness and make doctoring a little more complex if, for example, mothpeople react badly to some medicines.

Possible ideas include reagents being poisonous, addictive, ineffective, super-effective, or just plain different.
Maybe space drugs won't do much for plasmamen brains, but stable plasma... stabilizes them, in a hallucinogenic way.

One idea is making is making chocolate cause disgust and mild organ damage to felinids.

Make Felinids forcefully leap towards rats (like the xenomorph leap) and laser pointers. They wont fall for it again until another 30 minutes goes by.

Stop with the cringe posts about felinids that'll get reverted and only exist for grief anyways. If you want to make felinids unique dont focus on things that'll get reverted in a week.


For ethereals I want to give them subcultures and flesh out their backgrounds ab it more. I also want to add hair to them but without the ability to pick the hair color

Give lizards slower stamina regen but a larger base stamina pool so they are slower to go down and slower to get back up.
Do the opposite with moths. Down in two disablers/one baton, but up faster.
Give Etherals a 2-3x multiplier on all damage but the ability to self heal with stolen electricity.
Make Felinids have a significantly faster metabolism, so they need to eat more often, to the point that they will be starving if there isn't a botanist or chef because they can't just buy from the vending machines.

Botanists should be able to grow catnip for felinids

Milk should heal plasmamen faster than normal

Ethereals should instantly ignite if splashed with a flammable substance.

Moths should get a greater moodlet buff from an ethereal hug

why would ethereals ignite they're just organic humanoids.


also im not debuffing ethereal even further thats crazy. self-heal doesnt matter if one hit KOs you

sorry qustinnus i thought they'd do that because they do burn damage when they punch so i figured they're a little bit spicy

sorry i really like ethereals please don't take my bad idea wrong

I just want lizards to fall asleep if they are cold for too long, I haven't even looked at what the code would be for it. Thanks for the heads up.

also should specify, the idea is OK'd in adding specifically special mutations but not felinids and everything else needs to be okay'd and the others beyond oranges just don't want a part

Tell your local headmins to abolish ENFORCE_HUMAN_AUTHORITY, humans are fucking boring. Allow plasmeme CE, Lizard HOS, etc!
