Everyone makes a profit
You know bounty cubes? does little things that allows for people to make money? How about giving every thing a value. it allows for more plot points to take raise, like cargo becoming the center of drugs, botany making gross amounts of weed to sell for more funding, the chef... getting money. all things can go in a crate and onto the shuttle for profit for all parties. Everyone wins. But how do you balance it? More events involving credits, say a traitoring device that when put down will drain station funds into tele crystals, or a bank : viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30116. And because of the implication that credits are a digital currency, have a Ai malf module drain all credits and certain departments funding.

Where the fuck do departments get their funding from? because at some point nanotrasen is going to cut it because the clown is ordering a lot of fucking bananas. So why not at donations? simple in the "lobby" of each department, there is a box. any credits that a thrown in said box get directed to that departments funding. However this allows for certain things to happen, like engi becoming the power company and charging every one to pay them to keep the lights on in their departments.

EBAY! everyone uses it. so why not add it? Just like regular ebay, you can sell things for profit, and scam the living shit out of someone. it is just ebay, that simple. How do the items get shipped? i don't know and don't care if they do

I am reasonably certain that even after the cargo changes, you can still export just about anything, but the exact values aren't common knowledge. Should be a sheet somewhere though.

most exportable things have values that are calculated based on the materials in them.
