[Idea] Awaymissions and Telescience

Away missions should be merged with Telescience. Why? It would make away missions more interesting and harder to reach. It works on Goon.


Example 1 (away portal): Captain and gang of crew members use the away portal at the start of the round. Everyone dies. Station falls apart.

Example 2 (Telescience): Skilled scientist uses math to teleport to strange alien locations. He dies. Station doesn't fall apart (yet).

One issue: Telescience is bullshit.
One comment: There is a delay available on the away mission to prevent the mass-fuckoff.
I am located here, lurking in your posts, leaving piles of transparent wordings and being confused. Oh, I also try to map...

This, this is an example of what I leave for you.
Also, these days I mostly play Ursit McStation, mostly because I like roleplay.

Away Missions suck anyway and stopped being cool the moment they put a timer on them to stop everyone fucking off immediately.

Telescience requires too much math to be fun unless you have a scientific calculator.
The most excessive signature on /tg/station13.

Still not even at the limit after 8 fucking years.

Here is an idea. Make telescience a little more easy, or B. https://www.khanacademy.org. Kahn Academy is a good site to learn math.

Another idea is to enable away missions and keep the away portal, but require people to build the whole machine. It would require people to bug RD to research and miners to mine minerals so they could build it.

Away missions is a good concept, but not how it is now (if enabled). On NoxStation people would use it at round start and die quickly, including heads of staff. Away missions should be something special, something you don't get to do easily, but away missions should have treasure for those who are robust enough.

Actually, you only need 1-2 crystals and a capacitor. Basic, Advanced, Super. Getting the capacitor is the hard part. Just take apart the teleporter underneath the captain's office.

The capacitor isn't actually "hard" when it only takes power manip 3. So, literally 4 minutes of time in R&D.
