Make dead people slowly spin in zero gravity because space

Post by Smoopadoop » #189208

Because muh immersion, you don't stay upright while hurtling through space.

Make it so when somebody falls over or lays down in zerogravity, instead of rotating 90 degrees to the right, they start slowly spinning.
And if you get thrown, do a flip, or anything else which makes you rotate, start spinning very quickly.

you don't randomly start spinning either, you have to have momentum imparted to you

If you flip in 0 g you should flip indefinitely, after 10th flip you start puking.

Highly suitable for use in funerals

In a post about >muh realism i think a post detailing >muh other realism is perfectly on topic. That said i do still think this would be pretty cool, if slightly visually distracting after the novelty wears off

Obviously the dead should gain the ability to change their corpse's spinning direction with a command.

There is no way this will be abused, ever.

Use changing corpse direction as a method of trasmitting morse code

"THAT FAGGOT TRAITOR GEORGE MELONS GRIFFED ME AGAIN- stop

BAN HIM POSTHASTE- stop"

Then give the chaplain a zero G chamber for interprating the will of the dead

Alternatively, kinda unrelated but make ghosts choose the way they spin around someone

Nah man. There are always multiple layers of muh realism. i.e. Space should do damage and suck out air - good vs space should instagib you and your next of kin while sucking air out of the room like a premium hooker with a puffer fish for a mouth - bad.

This was already a feature - if you guys are suggesting it then I presume it was on NT not Tg. It was truly fucking awful, please no more.

Back when gravity was introduced, we had all kinds of weird 'corpse behaviour' (standing upright forever, perpetual pendulums, spinnning).
Have a guess why we don't have them today? Because it looks dumb.
Spoiler:
Also:
- zero g (weightlessness/free fall) != zero gravity (blame the guy who came up with the term 'zero g')
- space doesn't 'suck out' air, pressure simply tries to equalize (pushes outwards)
- your body does not explode when exposed to space: the body can handle 1atm pressure -> near 0 pressure over a few seconds (however, your weak meatbag of a body would burst if you quickly went from 8 atm to 1 atm)
- air will not escape through a breach 'instantly': the airflow is dependent on the size of the breach and pressure differences (and air temperature and volume, but those are constant). Obviously the flow will decrease over time as pressure drops (if the hull holding the air in is strong enough to withstand the pressure differences, otherwise it would pop like a balloon).
