The number of people who either can be bothered or are able to do soul implants for miners I can count on one hand.
Make it fairly pricey, but I think it's needed.

The concept of forced cooperation and vulnerability shouldn't be abandoned, I think. Having to get someone else to put it in is a deliberate design choice.

Pretty much as had been said. Plus Miners harassing me as as a doctor is annoying, but not annoying enough for me to give up the chance to mess with the miners.

All of these implant items require surgery not to make you go somewhere to install it, it is so that you have to risk letting someone else have access to your body and all your stuff. You have to trust another player. You have to give up control. You have to convince someone to help you. You have to take one of the biggest risks in the game in order to gain more power. This is good.

As miners are pretty much the only role who obtain this item, you already have people who depend on you to have fun. The Science Department. When you return to the station and drop off your resources, put that stuff in a locker and haul it down to Science (if they have not rushed to Cargo like hungry dogs hearing the sound of a can opener). Knock on the window to Robotics and ask for surgery while they collect their share of your haul. As a miner, the Science players love you, and generally would not object to you being in their lab. It is fair trade. They get resources, you get gear/mechs. It is still a big risk, but a Roboticist is the least likely player to kill you on the surgery table as an antag, as you just gave him the ability to have more fun! At most, you will probably get converted, but not killed. People who like you may convert you, but only a real jerk would want to kill you after you helped them.

id just like to say that this would be really really easy to code and while it's tempting for the sake of me wanting to do something easy to code i haven't because of negative feedback in this thread so just want you guys to know your voices matter okay
