Have you ever been a brain in an MMI without any options for moving around by yourself but to be put in an expensive cyborg or mech?
Here's the idea for brain emancipation: put a brain in an Man-Machine Interface (or a Man-Slime Interface i guess), then plunge it into an adult slime!
The brain would have motor control of the slime, but would lose most of the slime's abilities, such as splitting, attacking, or ventcrawling (since those would damage the barely-protected brain). If the slime is killed, the brain can be retrieved by cutting it out with any sharp tool.
Basically, this is more or less an MMI equivalent of putting pAIs into bots; their only way of interacting would be moving around and talking, but it's something to do in case you can't get borged and don't want to be a less-useful pAI.
