Political orientation
What do you self-identify as? If you're very moderate and would fall into what this board calls "liberalism", what way do you lean in there? The vertical axis goes from authority focus on the top to liberalism at the bottom, the horizontal axis goes from socialist on the left to capitalist on the right.
Also make sure to tell me about how all these names are wrong.

Re: Political orientation
Democratic market socialist. Both overbearing governments and corporate-controlled economies are equally threatening to personal freedom. No single group should control society. My ideal economy would consist of worker-owned companies competing on an open marketplace, with regulations to prevent monopolies. I'm not quite an anarchist-syndicalist though. A state is an inevitable result of society and human nature, therefore it's essential to ensure that it serves the people.

Re: Political orientation
I usually end up around the liberal left
I believe in the private market but still with plenty of regulation where factors other than price are important
I also find that regulating via tax/price tends to help with incentivising (i.e reduce costs for healthcare providers who focus on quality of care etc)
oh and also a comprehensive social safety net, including free education (which I believe should be free right through university/technical/trade school)
edit:
Oh I forgot but I'm for small effective government where possible and the government should never EVER regulate thinks that are personal to a single human
also to prove it heres my nationstate, although I am struggling to keep the government small

Sorta lefty greenish but facing that conservation is fucked the climate is fucked and even by some stroke of luck getting people off cranking the climate pokie machine with smog chips by 2050 shits will still be fucked.
Basically to keep living standards decent will require coordinated projects of unprecedented scale if even possible. Then even if we somehow accomplish turning shit around biodiversity would be so fucked by a quick dip into a prehistoric boiler we might as well redesign the ecosystems. No real hope of any of this though this is a planet where lobbies for fishing argue between 70% and 90% depletion of fish stocks yesterday while advice is mostly ignored and even then catch limits set by said governments ignored again despite the fact proper fisheries management would be catches bigger by magnitudes forever.

Setting the tool box, now bloodied, back on the table; I went to heal myself with a medkit. I clubbed myself in the head with that too.
I've come a long ways from asking how to switch hands.

Re: Political orientation
I was just ignoring the first post mainly. I am of the opinion there are too many words for dictatorship, like the journey behind putting one guy who can never deal at the tippy top and having him piss all over everyone in blind panic trying to stay king piss gorilla kind of renders the system that put him there in the first place irrelevant. Communist dictator and a feudal dictator really only differ in token appeasement measures they still crush people like insects constantly.
