Space Ninjas
*teleports behind you*
*unsheathes katana*
*decapitates you*
pshhht.. nothin personnel.. kid...
For what's supposed to be a mere side antag, these guys are really fucking stupid.
They have a brute 40 weapon that they can summon at any time and also use as an emag for whatever reason, a ridiculously armored suit, shoes that let them run at sanic speeds, stun gloves, adrenals, unlimited throwing stars, a safety jaunt as another "fuck you" if you think you have them cornered, EMPs, a licence to griff (of course), and let's not forget the most bullshit ability in their arsenal, the fucking cloak.
Good luck trying to kill something that can run circles around you, while completely fucking invisible, and three-shot you with his throwing stars/katana before you can so much as begin to yell over the radio.
There's no real way to deal with these fuckers other than getting lucky enough to knock them unconscious or somehow being able to deal enough damage to kill them without them running away, but that's if you can even manage to attack them in the first place.
They should not be random events, they're even more retarded than blob. It's just plain shitty when you've got a good hour-long round going and suddenly Sasuke Uchiha murderbones everyone because he knows that the crew can do fuck-all to stop him.

Re: Space Ninjas
They can only occur after like an hour and a half so the round has been going on way too fucking long if they start showing up

Re: Space Ninjas
Space ninja's strengths are mainly countered by their extremely shitty interface. The only server I play on apart from /tg/ is Animus, a russian server running on baycode so ancient, it's a fucking disgrace. And you know what? Space ninjas here and there are absolutely the same. Really makes you think.

Im glad i spawned in and killed their tendril.
No but really, I think they're pretty crazy atm. Like a griefghost but less ghost and more grief.
And the fact that their biggest downside is their shitty interface is kinda... This shouldn't be a thing.

There is absolutely no counter to being killed by a completely undetectable esword welding asshat with a jillion other powers. It is pre nerf ratvar mind control levels of gg bullshit

Re: Space Ninjas
It's all fun and games as a ninja until one of your throwing stars miss and the victim proceeds to throw it back at you, embedding.
Now you're dead because for some reason you can't pull it so gg pretty good run.

Reminder that they used to be even more powerful, and I miss these days.
If changes are to be made, I believe they should be geared towards actual stealth.

Re: Space Ninjas
They used to have antag HUDs and infitie invisibility.
They're incredibly rare and only appear when a round has gone on for at least an hour. You can play for years and only roll Ninja a total of 5 times, it's not an endemic problem.

Re: Space Ninjas

There is one great outcome from this: I rised up the blood pressure of some of you shitheads and lowered your lifespan. I'm honestly tempted to do this more often just to see you screech and writhe more, but that wouldn't be cool of me. So come on haters, show me some more of your high blood pressure please.

Re: Space Ninjas
These rarely fucking spawn and I don't see admins forcing any for any more outside of RNG being made for this to seem like an issue. Most know how much shit they can get up to, like xenomorphs, normally avoid using the button for these reasons outside special circumstances that might need one. Ninjas roll extremely rarely.
Speaking of ninjas however, they have had zero code love outside of (maybe, if they did this time) fixing their night-vision that was broken for fucking years. The ninjas UI/suit being a pain is part of their thing and other than knowing how to recharge or how to initialize, I don't see the issue with their controls either. Space Ninjas probably need some maintaining however, perhaps includign their energy blade given new dismemberment mechanics and the whole 'maybe unable to pull out imbedded objects' issue.

Re: Space Ninjas
They honestly don't seem that rare on Basil due to the long round times. I hate them since watching one person run around invisible without a real counter kill an entire crew of 40 or less is just awful. They are even worse now with dismemberment since every attack that hits a limb seems to chop it off. I would love if ninjas were prevented from attacking anything while invisible.

Re: Space Ninjas
I would love it even more if they weren't actually allowed to murderbone an entire crew, and if they were get in, get done, get out types.

How about making pro-nanotrasen objectives for Ninjas more likely? I heard that they used to have that kind of objectives in the wiki

Re: Space Ninjas
They still do I think. Pro-Nanotrasen objectives usually boil down to killing an antag plus their mask used to have an inbuilt antag HUD
