We've hit 12 while just casually fucking around and storming into the game. I think if we actually tried to coordinate something we could get like two good sized crews together, or at least one full sub.

Netcode rewrite is apparently still slowly ongoing. Should fix stairs of death/hatches of death as well as some other problems whenever it's done. It'll be nice when people don't get physics-ed to death crossing from the minisub into the main via the docks and water doesn't randomly blast in through the docked hatches.

Let me know if there's any issues with either The Pebble or the SS Rockbottom, it's been a bit since I've played and I can't remember if I forgot to fix anything.

The only issue I know of is that medbay is kinda hard to fix/get to/drain

Which would only really be solved if you put in a drain to get water out of there and into tool storage(From there we can just dump it into the bilge)

If possible medbay should have it's restricted access removed and just made a general area of the ship.

Having a portion of the ship that's vulnerable to breaches that most of the time only one or two people ever have access to is problematic.
If the doc is dead or absent only the captain can get in there, and he's usually too busy trying to get the sub away from threats to run back there and open the door so people can get into it to fix.

I think you copied the idea from other subs where the medic has his own locked area but in actuality it's completely useless.
There's no risk of people running back there and making murder chems because they wont have the medical know-how required to do so anyway.
Locking up the room the death-chem ingredients are in to prevent misuse is redundant. The only person who can misuse them has access to it anyway. People who shouldn't be back there fucking around can't actually fuck around to begin with.

Alternatively, an access from tool storage to up there, and then switch medbay around with the crew/sleeping quarters? Maybe make the new open space double as observation deck?

I personally think medbay shouldn't be all access, but it is a huge pain in the ass to have it there because that part of the sub is a magnet for hostiles, which break into there and flood the place

Personally, mostly because I like having an exclusive area that's for just people who should be there

So that you can't just have one guy do everything. Same reason why sec isn't given reactor access, sure. They can do it. But they're not supposed to and they can fuck with it.

You have a mode where you have to do consecutive missions, buy characters/materials/skills-for-characters. But it's much better with others.

Right. Well, if you are not interested, that's that. But with 'our own server' you mean this ss13 server or any specific Barotrauma server? If it's the last, I am pretty curious which one, I am pretty much the only one hosting a server 24/7 for Barotrauma. Many are glad about that. Before I started hosting, it was basically off and on many tell me, you had to be lucky if there was a server alive.

Well, that's nice then, didn't know that! However, it's always good to know for the players in this community that they are welcome at my server, and that it is existent. As servers hosted by the tgstation community are not always online aswell, and when players do want to play they have the opportunity to do so. My website does not only 'shill' my server by the way, it also links to any usefull website/forum/sharing related to Barotrauma, which is usefull for players that are new to Barotrauma. And also helps Barotrauma as game and the developers that work hard on it.

I hope you get a lot of players and it becomes a fun thing. Seriously.

But for us we have no idea who you are, you probably just found this thread after a google search or something, and we have a long crappy history of random ad bots and other random people appearing to advertise weird stuff to us.
Also honestly we've already managed to steal all the best players for a private server we put up when the crew wants to play the game. Trawling this forum for random adds might turn up some visitors you may not exactly want to welcome aboard.

If you're still looking for more players I would definitely recommend you NOT advertise on /vg/ or any related forums, as you'll definitely get underwater ISIS visiting your boat. You may have some success if you advertise over at Bay? I can't say for sure how they'll react but I have to guess they'll be less inclined to just immediately start placing C4 charges on everything, torching holes in the hull, or wedging the airlocks open for fun.

Really though, best of luck. Try not to take our skepticism personally.

Well, thanks. And..no, I am actually a semi-active player of ss13, since 2011. Also, I didn't create this account to just post this here, as you can see my account is from june, I just didn't posted anything else here yet. Besides this, VG is my favourite codebase, however, they don't have a section at the forum for these kind of things. The fact that I am familiar with ss13 communities is the reason that I am sharing it here, such as yog, hippie, cm and on reddit. I know ss13 players like games like Barotrauma, just like I do. It's after all inspired by ss13 and it can be found on the 'ss13 remake wiki page'.

About unwanted players by the way, that is something that will never stop, especially not for a public server. The developers are working on a dedicated server build which will probably bring better administration tools aswell. One of the reasons why I created a forum is because of administration and staff that is needed to monitor the game when...the game supports it obviously. However, you always gotta look forward, and this game has potential.

Yeah I think we all just looked at your post count.

Better tools to moderate a server and comb through logs to find stuff would be great. If we could specially mark certain buttons as "airlock button" so we could see who opened that one specifically vs. a million people just activating buttons randomly, that would be great. The logs are really impossible to pick through if you aren't on the server with some relative time frame in mind. "Inbetween the time I fired a railgun and adjusted the coolant temperature is when someone opened an airlock door to flood the sub like a jerk".

Best of luck trying to handle that in a public forum for a public server. You're doing God's work. Unfortunately I think it's also kind-of impossible to deal with if you have griffons with any amount of dedication given the current setup, which is why we've just stuck with playing a private passworded game with a closed pool of players. I'm obviously skeptical but I hope someone figures out a way to make it work.
