Dont need to aim when lizards are involved being pointed at with a .44 magnum.

Talking of guns, for it'd be nice if you could swap out the martian revolvers mechanisms to something more powerful, taking more of a line of it being a malleable swiss handpistol, and promote tinkering with it more. As dirty harry once said, once in his films he claimed he liked his own custom 44. load, typically we have the small gun mod with a screwdriver to force inside higher caliber ammunition, but straight up upgrading/downgrading to recoil/rate of fire damage penetration and the like with actual gun-parts would be nice. Not least to encourage each detective to specify what kind of gun they like, a clean low recoil fast firing gun, good for shooting the legs with minor bruises or a even heavier hand cannon that can knock you for six.

> NOT GUNSMITHING, just gun-mods probably via RND and cargo exports.

Add in space squid, and a random space encounter called a space Kraken that attacks every so often. Then add harpoons, and space boats.

Wouldnt a improv space boat just be a goliath boat with internals? Harpoons would be nice. alongside additional space fauna to give xenobio something to play with.

A meson emitter tator item that is able to target loyalty implants and use them against security members.

Uses power like a baton or mech, starts with a basic power cell. Turning it on makes all loyalty implanted members within its effective radius 'feel a tingling sensation', then when actually activated causes the implant to heat up and burn the implanted person. Different settings drain different amounts of power and do an equivalent amount of damage. Has a 5% chance to backfire and burn the tator instead.

no kidding do you actually want these 'cause seeing them in action on a polaris server was keksimus maximus, they didn't even realise they were aggro until they attacked and when they did they ran away into the hall instead of fighting them and just lead them into a crowd of assistants, the resulting peckening was the funniest fucking thing I've seen in ages

Adding a TTV and igniter to a pneumatic cannon allows its force to be increased by detonating burnmix when firing, applying the actual force generated by the explosion.
However, these cannons become damaged after a while and require repairs or possibly complete reassembly and replacement of broken parts (thinking mainly pipe and valve here).

Add special lawyer abilities.

Just like mimes can create invisible walls, how about we allow lawyers to target a specific tile within their sight to object there? Both "Objection!" and "Hold it!". Clearly we don't have enough Ace Attorney references.

It can't really do anything, aside from creating a brief speech bubble over a tile and play a sfx. It would definitely liven up the courtroom and the brig,

Now I'm wondering if that could be used for Robot Wars, remote control robots cobbled together out of random parts. The next big Assistant hobby?

And possibly a rare/traitor item to remotely control cyborgs and mechs?

A ~20TC Traitor item which is essentially a bulletproof/reflective umbrella mixed in with a gun and good at stabby stabby.
Whilst compressed, you can stab people and whip people with it, deaing with ~8 Brute Damage
Whilst floofed out, it acts as a bullet-proof shield.
At the start, you can shoot standard shotguns shells one at a time (Comes with a box), however when upgraded or something, you can load magazines into it.

Expand NT-OS and allow traitors to buy a Syndicate "Hack3r" laptop (the 3 makes it 1337) pre-loaded with emagged software + extra software that the emag can't get you.
Make APCs NT-OS relay points and vulnerable to hacking by Syndicates which lets them remotely control the room to some extent + AI framing.
  • Infiltrating an APC allows you to see and hear everything the APC sees as though it were an x-ray camera with Enhanced Surveillance. This level of hacking is quiet and mostly undetectable with only a 2% chance of setting off any network alerts.
  • Clicking on a door or the APC will bring up the AI style menus after 1 BYOND second and allow you to mess with the options, but you can't access ID-locked machines like the AI can.
  • While in the APC you can use other software directly on machines, DDOSing them makes most of them reject input regardless of access level and using the Syndicate bomb program will make them explode the next time anyone uses them (with loud buzzing akin to a Machine Overload).
  • You cannot interact with a machine that's outside of the APCs area.'
  • Infiltrated APCs don't have any outward signs of anything wrong except anyone examining them will see a sharp increase in their environmental power usage and someone with ID access can swipe the APC and flush it to kick you out of it. NT-Os can also be toggled off from an APC but computers and tablets will no longer unless they have the top-tier network card.
  • Clicking on an APC you infiltrated allows you to override it and make it blue as though a malf AI had hacked it, this gives your laptop cycles like a malf AI and will let you spend them to Overload/Override or remotely emag a machine. Do note that crashing an APC won't prevent a malf AI from hacking it and you will lose the cycles you got from it if it does, however, you can hack it back and both you and your laptop will receive an alert if they detect one of their crashed APCs being taken over.
  • Crashed APCs will allow you to access normally restricted systems but crashed APCs are very likely to send a security network alert.
  • A network alert will allow someone to trace you.
  • Some machines have unique interactions if DDOSed directly (Possible examples: AI loses it's ability to interact with anything or speak, even over binary, briefly. Telecomms machinery stops working, DDOSing the Hub turns it all off but DDOSing the bus mainframes would only disable whatever channels go through it, DDOSing the processors would make garbled text. Robotics control consoles will randomly lock cyborgs and refuse all access until the DDOS times out etc.)
I probably put too much thought into this.

I actually like the idea of a syndicate hacker sitting somewhere tucked away and vigorously hacking the station. Maybe allow them to move along the power lines like things crawling in vents, and able to access anything in a room once they hack the APC. Takes time to get up and running, but if a hacker gets away with hacking all the APCs, they could wreck some serious havoc.

I could have sworn I ideaguyed a mode like that, except that instead of a hacker you get a second AI that lives in the power grid.

Chaplain's totally-not-a-reference knife description says "Honour compels you to not sheathe it once drawn."
Add a sheathe to it and make it fit in boots like other knives, because there's nothing more fun than arresting an unarmed chaplain who suddenly pulls a force 18 knife from out of nowhere.
