Deep Lore
Nanotrasen has launched an experimental research ship in hopes of a ship that keeps mobile will not be as easy of a target for Syndicate forces. The vessel, named the NT Eagle, is currently in orbit around the planet commonly known as lavaland. The ship has been outfitted with two (?) planetary landers, the mining shuttle and the gulag shuttle(?). Additionally, there is a docking port for a cargo shuttle should Centcomm be in range to send supplies, a docking port for a Centcomm ferry, and a docking port which coincidentally has enough room for an abandoned ship which happens to be nearby. The ship also has a fully stock science lab, medical bay, and security. Since the ship could be out of range of Centcomm, the inhabitants have been placed in cryostorage (latejoiners will spawn here)which will conveniently be located near medbay(?). The NT Eagle's engines are powered by a supermatter crystal.
Map Features
- Four to five levels (TBD). This is possible with Remie's multi zlevel system which is detailed about in the spooky russian codebase thread a bit.
- Bridge will probably be on top with the AI upload located there and the AI core possibly located on the engineering level or on the bridge. Security will probably be on the bridge level with a miniature outpost on each floor.
- Med/Sci will be under the bridge, recreation with medsci.
- Engineering will be right below medsci, with no lift going to it- you'll have to use a ladder or stairs in maintenance. The engineering level will be pretty much a maze of maintenance with a main foyer with supplies and the SM in the back, which will go out a bit so that should an SM explosion will happen, hopefully cargo and medical won't be fucked completely. (or maybe not, the SM really doesn't affect much besides engineering on most maps so noone cares. This might force people to care a bit more.) Atmospherics will be near the front although that is still TBD.
- The final and bottom floor will contain docking for all the various shuttles. Cargo/mining will be near the back and probably a security checkpoint for immigration or to make sure people aren't leaving illegally I dunno.
- Maintenance will be very confusing and connected by ladders. So it might just randomly dead end and go up a floor for a while and then come down later. The bulk of maintenance should be on the engineer level which will be nearly completely maintenance with ladders going up to get into the various departments' maintenance. What I'm saying here is that maintenance isn't gonna be a secondary hallway for assistants, it's going to be very easy to get lost in and possibly dangerous. (huge maintenance rats, anyone?)
- Elevators going from floor to floor. (except engineering)
- Stairs and ladders going from floor to floor.
