I made a mock-up of an idea, and wondered if this was possible code-wise.
This doesn't account for not being able to walk through the walls. Some kind of effect would be applied to them, like a glass shine or a shimmer or something, but I didn't sprite it.

It might work if you made large overlay/effect objects and put them on the 3 sides you want to "extend" and then pixel shift said objects so they cover the screen in every direction.
So you'd have your room O and your objects at the edge X and X would visually extend into forever by using a 32 x 224 icon (large X being the actual location of the object for line of sight purposes, small x being where it visually goes)
O O O X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
O O O X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
O O O X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So, can I get a kind and generous coder to do this?
Or should I just learn byond
Also the projected tile would be customizable, unless we want this to only work for beach

byond isn't very hard, so this might be a pleasant learning experience if you're willing to give it a shot. hardest part is setting up git tbh
