Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
Daybreak is about to release a new progression server for EQ2: https://www.everquest2.com/news/fallen- ... erver-2017
I'm a huge EQ/EQ2 fanboy so I'm gonna play the fuck out this server when it comes out, already enjoying the EQ progression server they launched a few weeks ago.
Something about taking these grand ol' MMOs back to the beginning that is super enjoyable.
Anyone else interested in joining? Can get a casual group together.
If you're new but interested in playing, I have 8 years experience in game and can help guide folks!

Re: Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
I've been looking for an old school MMO for a while and this sounds cool, it's even after my exams start
on a scale of ultima online/whatever old as shit difficult mmo you can think of (I never played uo) to world of warcraft, where does eq2 lie? how does it stack up to eq1 in terms of that? it's been a while since I played an mmo where people actually interacted and shit instead of the wow style "you don't do shit with people unless you're in a guild or pvping" and if eq1 is better for that I'd rather do that
also how restrictive is the f2p shit

Re: Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
EQ2 is a little bit more difficult than WoW but not by much really. If you enjoy tradeskills, it has the best system for them I've ever experienced in any MMO.
The game is purely PVE, do not expect PVP and if they add in the PVP arena (battlegrounds) you'll see its pretty lackluster.
EQ2 has some insanely long and grindy/campy quest lines that given major rewards as well as well crafted dungeons and old school raid encounters with no frills. If you want an old school MMO feel without the insanely long EQ1 grind, EQ2 is your game.
EQ2 in its original state was very similar to EQ1 except it had a lot more loot and did not have class restrictions for races like EQ1 has.
They can only take EQ2 so far back balance wise as all servers are hosted together or something like that, while the content will be vanilla, it won't be EXACTLY like it was when the game launched.
While EQ and EQ2 are F2P, this server is a premium thing so you need a members ship, standard MMO pricing.

Re: Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
Well there is an in game currency that gives you 30 days game time, I got three of them laying around that I use to turn into platinum pieces (actual in game currency).
If you're actually going to play I would totally be down to give you one.

Re: Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
if you're willing to give another one im unironically interested in this since im looking for a good mmo as well, as long as i can buy with in-game currency afterwards then i can just neet that shit out
a bit confused on the whole server thing though, does it only last a certain amount of time or what exactly is going on?

Sure fam. The in game time currency is called Krono. If you stick around just pay me back with one once you neet out and I'm down.
You two should DM your steam URLs and I'll add you and we can talk some more.

Re: Everquest 2 - New Progression Server
Sorry for the typo, my bad.
Well first accept my steam invite you nig.
I'm traveling this weekend so unless you're on tonight it'll have to wait till Monday night/Tuesday.
But yeah make a character on whatever server. Just tell me the server name and what city it put you in. Also your toons name.
The servers will be up midday sometime so no rush.
