Brainstorm Mode Feedback Post
Brain Cult, you start as an AI-esque brain in a small skull, floating through spess similar to a larger Abductor Ship. You passively gain Brainpower, which is used to power your psychic abilities some of which are detailed below:
You can use this Brainpower to create thralls within the Skull, which are essentially like the AI's Cyborg shells except human
You can teleport your servants between the Skull and the Station. This takes lots of Brainpower, and creates a short-lived portal to the Skull which can be accessed by servants and non-servants alike unless you expend extra Brainpower to prevent this
While your Thrall is on the Station, it can convert people into your cult. They retain their sapience, but are subservient to you and can convert further people. Converting people increases your passive Brainpower gain and max Brainpower. If the station has high enough population at roundstart, you may start out with a few servants inside the Skull. If your servants grow dissatisfied with you, they can vote for one of them to become the new Brain similar to how the Blood Cult Master and Eminence are voted on. Yay democracy! Cultists suffer adverse effects from Holy Water, but can only be deconverted by the crew using brain surgery to remove the Brain Tumor in their... you can probably guess at this point. Hint: It's not in the ass. When a cultist or cult being dies, they don't become a ghost but are absorbed into your psychic hivemind, from where they can enter the thralls or cult beings you create, detailed below.
You and your servants can set up Eyes which are hidden like the Runes of other cults, and through which you and your servants can see like cameras and use simple psychic abilities (You can see through thralls and cultists as well). Eyes are very fragile.
You and your servants can use simple psychic abilities to do standard cult things such as making people hallucinate and stun and mute them, turn invisible, hide from cameras, and communicate through a global hivemind
You and your servants can set up Flesh Gates between the Skull and the Station, which long-term consume less Brainpower than manually teleporting people but are visible and need to be hidden well. There is a set limit to the number of Flesh Gates your cult can create. Flesh Gates are usable to non-servants and servants alike, so they should be guarded well.
You can create Cerebromonculi inside the Skull, hulking, Blobbernaut-like beings made from brains that can either be inhabited by you like your thralls or by your Servants by touching it and going catatonic and waking up when it dies. Crerbromonculi are slow, have lots of health, and can use simple psychic abilities just like your servants and thralls
You can create Brain Scuttlers within the Skull, which are small, dronelike beings resembling brains with four legs, sharp claws, and a long tail. They are extremely fast, can pass through the drone gate in doors and crawl through pipes. Servants can buy an upgrade with Brainpower to allow them to spawn Brain Scuttlers at their location.
You and your servants can create Veins, which grow like bright red Space Vines. Your servants can pass through them just fine, but they severely slow down non-servants. You and your servants can use Brainpower to upgrade them with things such as faster spreading or more health, healing servants and cult beings, boosting the potency or lowering the Brainpower cost of simple psychic abilities, damaging or completely stopping non-servants, or the ability to spawn Brain Scuttlers within them. You can also use these Veins to attack people manually, like the Blob, dealing low damage
Your servants can use Brainpower for a variety of changeling-like abilities like armblades, organic shields, better stun resistance or regeneration, or shapeshifting into other members of the Cult.
You and your servants can also create Flesh Walls and Flesh Doors as well as various structures that buff nearby cultists or harm non-cultists like the Clockwork Cult's structures within the Skull, to help protect yourself during the Brainstorm
Your objective is to convert a certain number of people dependent on the starting population of the station, which will begin an event known as the Brainstorm. During brainstorm four beacons spawn on the station at random points, at the start all of the servants control them, they will count up to a hundred points at the rate of one point per five seconds per beacon controlled. Both the crew and the servants can neutralize beacons from the other team loosing control from the other team therefore negating that as a source for points, they can neutralize by being within five tiles of the beacon and not having any cultists within that range, then they can take it similarly. When the crew gets to a hundred points, you die. If you get to a hundred points, you win, the brain can become bubblegum and kill people. You can harvest brains by surgery and add them for a 10 point bonus.
Edit: Manitol, certain drugs, and alchohol will deconvert the cultist.
tl;dr: brain-themed combo of malf, both cults, changeling and abductors that eventually allows you to play as Bubblegum to fuck the station up
Please reply yay or nay and why. If the poll gets majority yes by Monday I will code this.

Too similar to clock cult. Think of a unique win condition

Re: Brain Cult Feedback Post
Thank you for your feedback, various beacons will manifest on station during end game, the cultists win if they "control" the beacons for an amount of time. The crew can capture the beacons by holding ground there.Stickymayhem wrote:Too similar to clock cult. Think of a unique win condition

If the brain gets damaged, the thralls should become retarded.

Re: Brainstorm Mode Feedback Post
Cool concept, but I have some suggestions:
Endgame could be something more than just converting n people, maybe adding some mechanic like points of knowledg, obtained by performing actions like using fleshy data spikes to hack consoles/servers and absorb the information, reading essential documents such as the ones located inside the vault or debraining people and adding their organs to the brainpool. Then, during the brainstorm, a certain room of the station is picked at random and a portal to the brainpool appears acting like a reverse of the blood cult end phase, instead of the cult holing up and keeping the crew from interrupting the summon ritual, the crew must fortify the room and not let the floating, TK wielding 1000 IQ thralls cross the portal.
Instead of Holy Water, Mannitol, some of the drugs and copious usage of alchool could damage or deconvert the thralls.

Just because we can't remove blood cult and revolution doesn't mean we actually like it.dapocalypse wrote:I mean, most of the peepol seem to like it on this postoranges wrote:would you stop making fucking shitty conversion game modes
People don't like blood cult and revolution is decent at best or god awful at worst.
