Yes

We could offer a new position - Training Players. People can put themselves forward as a go-to person for helping a new player in general, or with specific departments (which'd be noted down as part of the position). Then a private message system would be set up between trainer and trainee for the duration of the round, by an admin.

You know that's actually not a bad idea. Probably doesn't need its own IC job slot but being able to flag trusted ckeys that want to participate and give new players a way to contact them would be interesting.

When a similar incident occured regarding helping train players last night a couple people said that they used adminhelp as a hotline to ask the badmins howe2spaceman questions, which they said worked pretty good. A separate, dedicated OOCy channel to the admins for asking how to do stuff certainly isn't a bad idea.

Have another button on the admin window: Gamehelp, and gameshow. Gameshow shows a special game question channel, perhaps enabled on a whitelist flag. Gamehelp sends your question to it, similar to admin help, which can be responded to by people with the flag.

why wouldn't ghosts/unconscious be able to speak in LOOC? they can speak in OOC, and as it is meant to be OOC chat it shouldn't be tied to your character

A good use would be, say, new doctors having to perform an appendectomy, doesn't know surgery beyond what's on the wiki. It doesn't make sense for the assistant to know surgery, but the player can walk them through it without drowning ooc

I know it's not allowed, but that's literally the role is filled by say "((the steps are scalpel, clamps, cautery, scalpel, saw, cautery))".

Not sure if that warrants its own thread, probably not.

Modularise suits, so for instance a librarian would not start with his all-in-one jumpsuit, but insted a shirt with brown pants and a blue tie attached as well as a red suit jacket in the outer slot.
Lawyer simply would get his suit with a red tie slapped on as accessory, instead of sprited on.
It allows for greater variety in peoples' failed attempts at looking stylish.

It gives you a fax back after a few minutes. The contents of the fax are randomized replies with absolutely no relation to the round ("Yes", "No", "That is classified, cease the behavior at once", "Consult Ian for answers", "Git gud", "Go ahead and try. Report back the results", etc). It pings admins whenever a message is sent.

The "few minutes" is so admins can choose to put in their own text for what the faxed back message will say if they so desire.

When Space Vines cover a dead body it can turn into a Podpeople who are given the objective to help spread the Vines and fight against the humans. They should get properties based on the Vines which created them (also giving them their color).

You should be able to draw on helmets with a crayon, which would write a random phrase on it and slightly change its sprite.

Phrases could include "GIT SUM!", "Born 2 Honk", "War is hell", "Give Code Red a chance", "Syndies don't surf." the peace sign, and more.

Also, you should be able to add a cable to helmets so you can store a cigarette packet there.

Added atmos/fire monitoring to the CE PDA/cart and Atmos tech PDA/cart, seeing as neither consoles need IDs to operate.

Offer more information from alarms in the Atmos console, such as a temp alarm, pressure alarm, O2 level alarm, etc etc. I find it weird that air alarms can gather this information but not transmit it.

Perhaps a way of monitoring distro loop or waste loop type console. But only available to atmos techs.
