blob IS extremely powerful its just alot of people dont know the basic things to do with it. unironically if I spawn as a blob and dont get caught till the announcement the round is over. just because players dont know how it works doesnt mean that the antag isnt powerfulNoxVS wrote:survivorship biasNikoTheGuyDude wrote:Also, blob is extremely powerful, all you gotta do to see how strong it really is is to watch a few of naloac's videos.

It's unfortunate you feel this way despite the heaps of good events admins have done in the past(Shoutout to Jerry Derpington). It's genuinely hard to do decent events because you need creativity(think DMing) and code knowledge/knowledge of admin tools. Having better admin tools helps a lot with this(i. e. less VV more buttons)Qustinnus wrote:As a side note, this is why I don't add admin controls to my features when I can avoid it. Playful tribalism is cool and all, it's banter and ribbing and that's great. But I think we have a bit of responsibility as staff to not lean into it too much, the logs here don't help Paxil's situation and had they chosen not to say these things the tone of it all would sound very different.Qbmax32 wrote:are they wrong thoughRaveRadbury wrote:you hate to see it[2021-04-03 00:28:29.571] ADMINPRIVATE: ASAY: Paxilmaniac/(Cydia Ferrilinea) "manuel players suck" (Chapel (182,134,4))
Fine, let's operate from the position that blob has a 1% win rate across all gamesoranges wrote:sure as hell wasn't the "mechanically unbeatable antag"IkeTG wrote:the real blob was the friends we made along the wayoranges wrote:stop saying blob is barely balanced it has about a 1% win rate against the crew it's fucking embarassing you would even say that.

im not sure if owegno is aware of this but this really isn't a situation where you'd ask them whats going on and tell em to knock it off; paxil has adminabused several times while prioritizing their own fun several times, besides what owegno said (paxil doing this consecutively for like 3 days), they have spawned themselves as an arms dealer giving away deadly gear, while this is supposedly a gimmick to make the round fun it really doesn't look like they're trying to. another example would be building an entire room for a ''date'' they took part in, nobody was watching this nor does it contribute anything. from my perspective i think paxil just tends to press buttons ultimately looking for their own enjoyment over others.

Ok but they didn't, and their actions were logged, so this uproar serves them right.oranges wrote:that's how I restart servers without getting complaints from people, it helps there's no audit logging on it either.

One time, the servers were all shut down because it was April 1st on Easter Sunday. This prevented everyone, including players and admins, from playing all day. /tg/station members don't know what good pranks are without at least someone getting fucked.Misdoubtful wrote:Aren't April Fools pranks supposed to be confusing out of the ordinary things that end with people laughing once they figure it out?
Cruelty that ends in anger as part of a prank or setting one up isn't something I'd sort highly on my list of good pranks.
Thank you for the acknowledgment. Anyways, I agree that this seems like too jaded of a reason to cockblock admins (as long as it can be var-edited, it is acceptable though), and I feel like what Paxil did isn't even them simply "pressing buttons." They had to do some directly specific var-edits in order to make the blob overpowered, which hardly counts as "admin controls" unless you wanna argue that debugging the game = bad. I have heard examples that can be considered as better justification for such a jaded approach of "fuck the admins no matter what" however this ain't it, chief.Booktower wrote:It's unfortunate you feel this way despite the heaps of good events admins have done in the past(Shoutout to Jerry Derpington).
