The last thing you'd want in your nuts is someone's foot fungus. But as it turns out, that might be what you get.
A 4channer uploaded a photo anonymously to the site showcasing his feet on nuts with the statement 'This is the nuts you gobble at Player's Club.'
Admittedly, he had shoes on. But that's even worse.

Imagine my grandparents surviving nazi concentration camps only for their grandson to be accused of nazism for criticizing a citrus fruit on the internet.
What is this, babby's first vote on every pr suggestion? Boo. Oh, and randomly headmins are thrown in to administrate the repository? Daring today, aren't we?
This feels like the unconditional acceleration view on the divide between codebase and administration. (for further reading, see: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/whackjob)

Hello! I'm PositiveEntropy, Spritetainer and AdminTrainer extraordinaire! If you feel like sending any feedback, you may be interested in checking it out here.
I guess it depends on how a vote is started, but 3/5 player majority is way too low of a bar. Pretty much any controversial change or decision would probably get someone removed.
Like imagine if this was around when cloning got axed. Overall a good decision, but people were pissed when it happened. A removal poll would have probably gotten to 60%.
I do think having some sort of process for removal might be a good idea, but this is way too easy.

Bee does this where their playerbase has to vote on PRs before they go through. Bee is also stuck in like 2018 TG because of it.
There needs to be a way for coders to push through controversial changes that will be good for the overall health of the game despite the playervote. If you did this maybe you could give headcoders a few "veto" cards each year to push important PRs through despite player opinion, whereas less important but still super unpopular PRs would be overruled.
I doubt it's a good idea to let players control what's in the codebase but if you wanted to do it that seems like it'd be the best way.
Also: to anyone considering/thinking that letting Game Server Administration have power over the codebase should look at Bay. I heard all of the maintainers resigned over it.
Simultaneously making both the best and worst jokes on the internet. I like looking at maps and code. Learn how to map today!. You may rate me here.

May eventually become one of the illusive maintainer-headmins if they choose to pursue that path, having a coder in the senior admin leadership has usually been positive for both sides in the past.
As usual, sticky's headmin thread is simply too based for most players to understand why the platform contained within would make their games better. Not sarcastic.

I figured I'd throw my hat into the ring again. I can find the time to do the work if I win.
Genuinely though I do think a Fusion RP ruleset would be best to preserve the classic /tg/ experience.
Either this goes for a new unified tgstation ruleset, or a specific server to try it out first.
I consider myself a /tg/station historian. If you're interested in the server history at all, feel free to ask me and I'll try and get you an answer!#ConcurForever
Sticky has been epic for years and I am glad people are finalizing realizing this

Gupta has now made a headmin candidacy application.
Very pleasing to me is that they are advocating community re-unification as well.
The more people we get on board with that idea, the more public opinion shifts hopefully. I wish them luck!

I voted Sticky very high up last cycle - his new campaign thread does not look great. Begins by calling everyone who might even potentially disagree with him idiotic sheeple. Does not seem to care what players want or think, and suggests he will instill his own policies because of his personal beliefs about what will be good for the game. Openly expresses a lack of interest in hearing contrary opinions or even feedback.
Finishes strong by saying admins should ban people more over minor things. OCK ICK? Sit out for a week, then maybe you'll learn...
I'm sure their intentions are good but I really disliked the tenor of the thread.

Yeah i agreed with most of the issues in the thread, but the tone was pretty off.
Like the bit about raising the standards of LRP. That's something I want to see happen, but it's full of shit like "flipclapspamming sussy zamners."
And the stuff about harsher punishments for minor offenses is dumb. People aren't going to learn faster, they're just going to stop playing tg. In my opinion positive admin interactions are by far the best way to encourage good behavior. Especially for newer players, a reminder on the rules from admins can go a long way towards future behavior.
"Training the worst players like dogs," "more effective than notes and warnings and lovely ahelp conversations" Like fucking hell, condescending much? I really like most of these policies, i just wish it was someone other than sticky championing them.

What do you guys think?
If 3/5 of players, including downstream players, was enough to vote out a coder we would have literally no coders.
Not that “coder” is an official position anyway.
EDIT: I didn’t realize there was a whole second page, seems like people already said what I said.

You would not have any good coders left because they all just want to run a sledgehammer through the game to suit their whims.

6 months is already a blink of an eye. Any good faith movement with evidence would come up in like month 4 or 5 of a term and would accomplish nothing.
If in a headmin platform it'll be the same as the rest, work for the sake of work or a pyramid/vanity project to say you've done something. More candidates need to be okay stating that they will work to keep the lights on and be active and none of these goals to pointlessly pursue more bureaucracy to pad out air time.

why do people who started playing in 2021 think they deserve human rights much less the ability to run in elections
Honestly it’s a shame because I like those people, I just think you’d need to have been part of TG for at least a year before you’d have the wherewithal to make paradigm-shifting rule and policy decisions.
I agree with rule 3 being implemented but anyone who advocates for it to be forced in, whether for the greater good or not, is not someone who I’d vote for. Testing and feedback should be important parts of any discussion that would change the game to such an extreme degree.
