Cutting the Id Scan wire prevented the airlock from opening manually, basically deemed broken by common crew. Pulsing the Open wire would now control it.
HOW IT WORKS NOW
Cutting the Id Scan wire prevents the door from being opened by bumping, anyone can open it by hand however. There is no reason to use the Open though it still works.
THE ISSUES (it has been this way for a while now, mind you)
- Engineers can break into places even faster, do not need to cycle tools while hacking, are harder to interrupt or even be noticed
- The door is confusing and still deemed broken by most personnel. Including engineers who often don't remember about this method
- If not used maliciously, it's hard to explain to others. The most I could shorten it to is "Hand not bump!" and it works around half the time
- You can no longer make airlocks opened by something else than ID reliably. The most painful loss here for me is making vault doors named SESAME /w voice analyzers
